Wanted
EDF Jet-Durable, good first EDF

I am interested in a good first edf that is durable and can use 3 cell 2200 mah or 3 cell 3200 mah. Looking for something semi scale and cheap. Maybe a hobby lobby sabre or a good deal on an e flite bae hawk. Something like this. Post any good deals you may have and I'll see if I like it.

Cheers!

The E-Flite BAE Hawk is going to be out of the question if you're using a 3S pack. It's a bit more serious of a plane than you might want to start with.

The recommendation you're going to hear from just about everyone is the Hobby People F-16: http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/107312.asp

Unlike a lot of plane kits, it has a very decent stock power system that will work great on a 3S pack. It has plenty of room for a 2200mah pack and even a 3200mah pack, depending on the width of your pack (and you can always remove a little foam if need be inside the battery area). It builds decently quick, and it's one of the best flying EDF's out there. It can haul butt (even the stock system will zip you along pretty quick), and it can float almost as well as my high-wing planes. I've had it land so soft and slow before that it literally just set down and stayed ... didn't even slide once it touched down in the short grass.

There are a lot of nice hop-ups for the kit that you can get from Morgan Mill, too: http://morganmill.com/RC/rc-site-10-7-08_028.htm

I'm sure there are some other great options out there, too, but you'll be hard pressed to find someone who wouldn't recommend the HobbyPeople / Phase3 F-16. Good luck with your first EDF. Be careful, they are addictive!

That sounds good. Anyone have a built phase 3 f-16 they want to sell?

I have a TWM Panther I could part with. Its molded from EPO foam, so its more durable. Basicly a delta flying wing with intake on bottom. Very simple. Very fast for its size, yet slows down for easy cruising. Let me know if you want pics. would come with motor, servos. Would need 35 amp esc, rec, and any old 2100 mah 3s lipo.
