Saito FG-14 Carby

Does anyone know if the carby for this gas engine is the same carby as for the Saito FG-20?

I'm trying to get a replacement carby for the Saito 14cc, but am having no luck with the Australian distributer for Saito. I've been waiting nearly 3 months now.

I understand that the carby's for the Saito 20cc are being swapped by the US distributer for a new one in the US, and I want to look at getting hold of one of these if they are the same as on the smaller engine. I understand that they were problematic for the 20cc in that the fuel pump was a bit weak, but that they should be OK for the smaller 14cc engine.

Not sure on the size, but they are simply a pump carb for glow powered Saitos, so make sure you drain every last drop of petrol out of it every time you fly or bye bye diaphragm.

Horizon doesn't have a parts listing for the FG-14 yet. The manuals doesn't do any good because it doesn't differentiate between the FG-14 and FG-20.

And the manual for my 20 is the same as the 36, which has a legitimate carb on it, a Walbro.

I don't understand your comment about leaving gas in the carb. The carb is made for gasoline not methanol.

Thanks for the advice. There is a new manual for the Saito gas engines on the Horizone Hobby site, but it's hard to know what parts are common to what engine from the exploded views/parts list.

Right, you won't know until the parts list for each engine is available. They use the same dash number but the prefix will tell you if it's the same part or not.

The instructions state explicitly that your fuel pump diaphragm will be deteriorated and eventually destroyed if you leave any fuel in it.
