If you can do away with the flaps, brakes, and a couple servos.....and go 10s the plane is light and a joy to fly.......

Mine looks like it will end up at around 7kg (15.5lbs) ready to go, this with 12S 5000's feeding a 4" Haoye/Turbax/Turnigy fan combo. I also have 2 flaps, 2rudder and 2 elevator servos, and E-Flite electric retracts, I think they save me some weight compared to air units. I'm using the stock foam wheels and do not have brakes or fancy struts, only the wires included with the E-Flites.

Not done anything special to remove weight, but keep in mind my fan/nacelle is much lighter than what most are using, mine weighs in at 700 gram (1.5lbs), that's where I save most of the weight compared to those running a Dynamax or similar fan setup.

4" Haoye shroud in homemade balsa nacelle, with cut-down Turbax rotor and spinner, currently with a Century 650A 800kV motor on 12S 40C 5000 Zippy, Sentilon 100HV controller. Waiting to get a Turnigy T600 880kV motor and will do a swap when I get it, the current setup is a little low on power. I'm getting 9.5lbs of thrust on just 2800W, I'm hoping the higher kV motor will up those figures a bit.

Put the plane on the scales today, RTF it is 6.8kg (15lbs)
