I've not had one CS 12 fan pop on me in flight...I've had over 200 test and flights on the 90s and 70s and over 50 on the 120...

They've been more reliable with me than more expensive products ...

There are plenty of people with similar experience and plenty of people who've seen thrown blades or popped fans with them preassmbeled by people who REALLY know what they're doing and have been doing such for a really long time...those things happen.

I'm over 130mph WOT on the falcon keeping it light and running this fan on 12s using 3300 mah nano packs... and a 3s for the smoke system

I am still looking for a RTF Falcon 120, I can drive a bit to pick one up. I will be in the Phoenix area next weekend, could even drive a bit more if it's the right one!

There is a guy on rcuniverse selling his with an out runner engine pushing a prop. I think he was selling in on rcgroups a while ago. Anyway, looks like a nice plane and he is in CA.

I enjoy the heck out of it

I have a CS 12 blade 120mm fan and a 70amp HV hobbywing controller (which are spec gimped btw, those things handle some nice amps) on 12s around 90 amps WOT...

Even with almost 2lbs of smoke system and oil I can easily do loops etc..AUW around 15lbs 8oz...thrust is 14.5

So it crashes for whatever reason...it cost 150.00usd shipped to your house and you can even get the white one from Nitroplanes a couple times a year for that price.

I have the holloween one, I can see it in the air easier..

Bunch of upgrades for it, my flight cost with retracts is 450.00 using the haoye fan which doesn't sound bad either...the 128mm one and a Air Sally intake ring. with the CS fan it's 500 with the HK Scorpion motor (prolly made by same company)

If you REALLY want to make it nasty fly it with the YEP 14s controller and the CS 120mm fan at 18.5lbs of thrust and with 14lbs of AUW weight...using the aforementioned setup..for a whopping 40usd more

One of the best large jets in RC right now...

You'll have to reinforce the retract mounts...they're still using soft wood and wont last you past 50 touch downs or "agressive landings" but that's about all I really did...oh...had to reinforce the front retract area also...mostly cause of my landing style... lol

Do you think that an 8S or 10S (or maybe even 12S) on a 90mm system would carry this plane? Maybe a 3,000-3,500W system?

a 12 s 90 might fly it but it would have much punch ,it is a draggy airframe ,but a 120 is fine ,mine weighed 19-20 lbs and flew well on 5000 watts.

Thanks. I thought you will tell me that two 90mm jet fans were proven to fly a 43 lb plane...

no problem but you will have to get it down to 12-15lbs auw then your good to go. tam is flying two very large scale edfs on TJ90 11 and 12s setups. the latest one being his YA F86 at 18.5lbs it sports the New TJ90HP 12s 5kw and his TJ A4 at 15.24lb on a TJ90 11s both fly fantastic.

I dont really have a good perspective of how big this jet is but I'm thinkin its about the same size as my ya stingray and so I would agree with you that it might be draggy as a sport jet but compared to say a y/a F86 or the A4? I would think those would be way more draggy. still I will defer to you since you have built and flown one....wow 19lbs rodger thats seems way heavy or this thing is much bigger than I'm thinking lol......I thought erh flew his at 14lbs

it has a 63" wing span ....but it is a thick airfoil.hell i loved the way it flew ,i had every thing on mine struts, brakes, 6800 12s batts and the XPS /dynamax fan in one of my nacelles, cockpit pilot bust ect. it was more like 18-19 lbs ....but i was'nt really counting as it flew soo good.some kits are lighter than others...i had two and there was over a pound diff. between them out of te box.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=21870

it uses a 8mm shaft turned down to 6mm, get the 8mm shaft from mc master

Prolly a bigger esc would do but I have been flying this one of over a 3 months now iirc and it hasn't skipped a beat fits perfect inside the back of the plane

Mine is about 18lbs with 5800 mah packs and the scorpion DynEmax. I saw Rogers's Falcon at LA jets this year and they performed about the same and were pretty close in weight.

John, not sure if you are coming to Big Jolt but I will have mine there tomorrow. Looking forward to see what you do with he Stingray!
