Solution to big battery supply

I'm surprised that nobody mentions paralleling smaller packs. Since day one, I have been running 12s 2650's paralleled to 12s 3300's. The pic is of the Citation
and that was reduced to 10s as it was a bit much. There are a lot of advantages:
1. double #12 or #13 is copper equivalent #9 or #10 respectively.Easy wiring!
2. almost twice the cooling area.
3. more flexibility in location for cg.
4. easier no spark solutions.

As a somewhat seperate subject, I still use anderson power poles on all my batteries. No special jumpers, cables, everything fits everything. you do need to be carefull!

Another advantage Tom, is that you have the smaller packs for smaller applications when you need them (and you have A LOT of them)

Sweet-They'll get me started...Got the big Georgia Falcon home. Its in need of pretty substantial cosmetic and other work inside and out, but worth the price. Going with a different color/ graphics scheme as well. Will post before and after pics.

Roger, it has the CF stiffeners, and the fan install looks good, but I'll pour over it. It did fly, I saw the maiden on a cell phone video. I'm certain I'll be here much, asking silly questions in due course...

Tempted to swap fans and put this one in my replacement F9F plastic Panther, and put the 5612 in the Falcon, tho I suspect I'd need a smaller nacelle.

A few pictures of my Falcon. I still haven't gotten a chance to get a flight in yet.


I admit that I need to find a better handle to pull back on the metal latch...that Popsicle stick just looks out of place. The batteries lay overtop of the metal hatch, which is fixed to that block of wood. The metal latch lever is blocked by the top of the battery tray, so I needed a way to pull on the latch without much effort. The popsicle stick works pretty well until I find something that looks a little nicer.

5612 would fit fine in the Air Sally nacelle, all you need to do is to make a short inlet adapter to fit the slightly smaller fan ID.

i've been able to fit a lot of fan into the nacelle it takes some work but can be done ...the latest fan to get installed is a shubie HST94 i'll try to post a pic tonite ...i got it mounted ,just need to do some body work ,and paint it ...of course it looks so good in there you hate to put the lid on
