Got my 1300 30C lipos in the mail today. Going to charge them up and do a test to see what power they put out. Weather shows 5 mph winds all weekend long

Got two flights in and I love this little jet. The speed is definitely more to my liking with 250 watts but honestly I could use a little more. My head cam memory card filled up so I am recharging the lipos for the AMX so will try to get some video on them in a little bit mainly so I can get a doppler reading. The tailerons worked quite well so no need for ailerons at all. The higher weight was not noticable to me at all. That is why I am thinking the next iteration will be a 4S1300 not a 4S1000.

Uploading video to Youtube. Doppler shows about 75 mph which is not that bad in 32F weather.

Don I just finished my flights as well. What an AMAZING jet is all I can say.

They are amazing FLYERS!!! Fast and not heavy at all with 1600 4s 30C. The weight is ZERO noticed -- vertical unlimited

I agree on the weight being a non issue. I am glad I held off on the 4S1000 as I am going to go to 4S1300 instead. It does flynice like this and is a good park model at ~75 mph but I want it to be about 90 or so that is a speed I like and this model is no smaller than the A-4 I flew today and that was going 90-95 so I want the AMX to be that fast as well.

nice vid don -- she looks fast. the fly bys are nice - lose it a little when it gets out far --- these are so tiny i don't know how Pete captures them so well on vid --- must b using a darn good camera.

I'm even thinking of tossing 4s 1800 40C in there -- 'cept it will really fubar the CoG then.. it would fit easy, just longer than the 1600

Don,

That's just silly fast for such a little plane. How old are you? I ask, because I want to know how you can see it

I use a head mounted camera so fixed focus. When I have my friend Bill takes videos for me, the videos are much better as he can zoom in as they fly. But the head cam is all I have at the moment.

My A4 was doing 90-95 today and is basically the same size. I like 90-105 mph range on my jets. But I will say I am tempted to leave as is because I have six 3S1300 packs I can use in this model. I wish airframes only were available to do a 4S version. As far as my age I am a ripe old 38 years

Don,

38 is still good. It sucks to get old. Even though mine corrects to 20/10 the eyeballs are not what they used to be when you're 20 years older than you. My opthamologists laughs when I complain about getting older.

Don,

Very nice video. All I can say is WOW!

By the way, getting old really sucks, but it is infinitely preferable to the alternative!

33 here -- always a kid at heart though

bad stigmatism in both eyes..

I was wearing my snowboarding goggles to fly today -- i might look a little whacky to the passers-by (not at a flying field) but those things are AMAZING at cutting the sun and showing shadows, etc -- since they're made to drown out sun-glare on white snow. I swear I can see 10times better with those things on and i NEVER struggled today with orientation or even times when the plane was nearly directly backdropped by the sun.

The goggles are an interesting idea. Since there are hundreds of snowboarding goggles, which ones are you referring to as helping so much.
