Yeah, but I hope the Hawk wasn't hurt...props can do a lot of damage to a human...I'm sure a bird could suffer even worse...

Getting ready to build a deep reaper xl with the extra extension
What do you guy's think of this setup?
Motor: NTM Prop Drive Series 35-36A 1400Kv / 550W
Battery: 2x Turnigy 3000mAh 3S 20C
ESC:HobbyKing Red Brick 70A ESC (Opto)
Prop:APC style propeller 9x6
Receiver:Corona Synthesized Dual-Conv Receiver 9Ch 72Mhz
Servos: Turnigy MG930 Digital Metal Gear Servo 3.6kg
And a Castle Creations 10amp BEC to power the receiver and servos.
Would this also be able to handle the weight of a battery to power the fpv system? 3s 800mah just because i'll have so many wires coming from the two batteries already.
I also want a gopro on this guy so I'm wondering if my power supply is enough.
Let me know what you think guys!
Cheers!

considering I have a similar setup, but with 2x4000mAh 3S batteries, and a GoPro to boot, I think you should be fine. On a 1400kv motor, my experience is it can feel just a bit sluggish, but I'm comparing that to a regular Reaper with a 2200 lipo and no FPV gear. I'm definitely going to try an NTM 3536 1800kv on my next large wing, though.

hmm so a larger kv and maybe a smaller prop would do it. thanks !

So I'm going with the 3536 1800kv, with a 9x5 prop. A little less pitch should help the motor draw less amps. Also switching out the 3000mah 3s with some 4000mah 3s.
Thanks for the help mate! I'll make a build log if I decide this is the final setup

Why did it wreck?

What size servos are you using? Some of the mini servos can't pull a heavy plane out of a dive.

I was flying like normal, but i wanted to gain speed and pull up but i never got up, and i dont think i was that fast, its the 1st time it happens, the servos are HobbyKing 929MG Metal Gear Servo 2.2kg/ 12.5g/ 0.10sec

I don't think those servos are strong enough for the weight of the plane. you might want to go to a standard size servo. We have seen this before as the planes get heavier. Your stall torque is 2 to 2.2 kg on those servos. I don't think that is enough for what you are doing.

The Turnigy MG930 servos are working well for me on my Deep Reaper. They have a stall torque of 3.6-4.5kg.

Might be overkill, but...

I recently switched to these TowerPro MG995 metal gear servos from RCTimer. Probably overkill, but the price is right for a pair.
