Looks like Rocky and GregSilver both ran this Cobra motor (edit: not scorpion) Greg, what did you think?

Still open to other suggestions, if anyone has anything. I know Todd was saying a 1500kv motor on 4S, but I'm not sure what flight time that got, or exactly which motor he was using

Folding props really aren't necessary, IMO. It's just one more thing that can go wrong.

You'll want a 60 amp ESC for this setup if you wanna fly in the hot summer, and get it some cooling too.

I bought 2 of Rocky's recommended Cobra 2217/12 motors with 1550 KV. They are a good high quality, light weight motor and run well. They remind me of Axi motors which I also like. They are a little more efficient but a whole lot more expensive. They are not putting out the horsepower that I am getting on the bigger motors I have been using and even though I like them I am not using them at this time. I think I will put them on some new Titans I am building.

Which bigger motors? Are you using any of them on a std Reaper? Link?

Considering how nose heavy Titan can get, maybe you actually do want a bigger, heavier motor on the Titan. (Maybe you'd let one of the cobra's go for a little cash? )

I have been using the 3530 - 1700 KV with a 7x6 prop on the Titan. It will go straight up.

I still want to play with the new motors. They are great motors and I plan to use them.

So, Lee, what did you have the cobra motor on? And what battery? I'm thinking maybe that cobra 1550kv motor with a 3000mAh 4S battery

I ran the cobra motor today that rocky recommended. 3s 3300...all I can say is extremely efficient. I ran it with 9x4.5 climbed great with a three pound plane. Then kicked it back to about half throttle and was only pulling about 8 amps and used 1000 mah on a 10 min flight.. If u want fast this is not your motor great for a long range fpv. Biggest down fall is the 3 mm shaft bent one on the first flight. Will try the 2814/12 tomorrow with a 10x5 on a drxl

Thanks for the great info! What would you guess your top speed was with that setup? Maybe going up to 4S would provide the extra punch I'm looking for, (closer to Wind-of-Change's second recommended setup a couple posts ago), and if you were getting around a half hour flight on your 3300 3S, I could probably be somewhere in the 20 min range with a 4S... right?

That motor has no punch it's very small I will post a picture later of it compared to the 3530 1700. With a 20 mph wind it only went 65 on my OSD. If your not doing fpv don't get this motor. Get the 3530 I did 85 mph with it. 12 min out of a 3300 running pinned.
