That would work with one side but on the other side I criss-crossed the spars so I could actually tie them together with string. I had no idea.

Like I said it will probably be OK with out the extra reinforcement.

Flex your wing. Are you seeing movement where the spars meet? If so it should be an easy modification to add a tie rod between the two rods.

I haven't reinforced many of the connections where the cross piece of the middle spar connects to the spars on the leading edge although it is a good idea.

It survived a 150' dive into the water so it's probably fine.

Ok I'm gathering parts for my GR build.
This is going to be an FPV platform for my GoPro.

Target AUW 1.4 kg

I have these
HS-82MG x 2
8 ch RX
3s 2200 mah x 1 OR 4s 2200 mah x 1 ??

To buy
40A ESC
7 x 6 APC prop
1700 kv motor

I often fly in tight spaces with trees around, should I do a crow mix to get it to slow down quickly?
Then I'll need another two servos and cut the elevons into half.
Outer elevons go up, inner elevons go down.

Finally

It's taken me a few months but I finally had some time to work on my GR FPV. It's sporting a new look. Pan and tilt camera with Key cam for on board recording. Copilot for stabilization (I hope it works). Remzibi's OSD, Dragon Link UHF for long range, 500mW 2.4 transmitter. I'm going to start with a 2200mah battery and possibly go to 4400mah for longer flights. I'll be running camera and plane off the same battery right now. This will change if the video looks bad.

Test flight will be tomorrow. Wish me luck.

I test flew it today. Weather was great! We had a small group. I think there were 4 counting me. In the group I fly with there are a couple of assassin kits and a titan. None of the guys have seen the Reaper so when it went up fully loaded it was a collective Ahhh. I think I may have sold a couple of Reapers for you today Lee. The wing flew great but the video had a lot of static. I will defiantly be using a separate battery for video. My dragon link went into fail safe a couple of times. I'm not sure why. I have had that same radio out to a mile with no glitches. The work continues.

I did record the on board video to my laptop. I haven’t had a chance to look at it but I don’t think it turned out very good. My goal for this first flight was to make sure it would fly the weight safely and have enough power to get up to altitude fast. I think it was a success. I’m using the Titan Core Kit with the C3530-1700kv motor and 30amp ESC. I’m not going to have a chance to post any video for a couple of days.

I was finally able to do de maiden flight tonight and after 3 launches (its too nose heavy right now) I was able to record a 13min flight with the GoProHD.

I'll post the video later on.

This is going to be my primary FPV rig so tomorrow I'll do some more testing to get the CG right and add my EzOSD along with EzUHF LRSand 500mw ImmersionRC 2.4Ghz Tx.

Some pictures for now,

Did a custom mount using the ''fixture'' the GoPro is attached too in its original box. The are zip ties that goes trough the frame and attaches underneath using a plate to distribute the force...sorry don't know how to say this correctly in English.

Dispite being too nose heavy for now the plane is pure joy to fly!!! This will make a perfect FPV rig!!!

The ''under plate'' which is carved in the foam so the bottom of the plane is flush.

The fins:

Nice Vid Saucisse. I like the gopro much better than what I'm using for FPV. I'll mount the gopro up again soon.

Here is a video from today. It's long and boring so grab some popcorn.

Hi guys,

I just received my GR. Will be building it soon.
I think I'll add two more pieces of formica for the GoPro Mount and make four screw holes in my GoPro mount for that.
