Somewhat OT, but it could be On Topic if you want it to

Theres this photographer named David Levinthal, who does large format Polaroids of scenes he makes with toy soldiers in 1/35th scale or a bit larger, which he lights in realistic ways. He uses a shallow depth of field to add to the dreamyness of it all.

I bring it to your attention because many of you do amazing scale work which would benefit from this kind of photography, even if you don't use a large format Polaroid camera.

Just food for thought/eye candy for y'all:

Just think of pictures of your boats done up like this!

Nice photography,

Toes cheats, Thats the real tug, I can tell by that tug in the
background,... I know both those models are real.

Here are two of my models...and photography.
I try to make them look real.

Those are some nice Polaroids.

Toes - It looks like the armory staff mounted the machine gun shields the wrong way (slot should go up). Here are photos of the proper mounting.

Um are we talking about the same subject? If so, my life just got more interesting. If not, I am confused.

Anyhow, this is the artist's website: http://www.davidlevinthal.com/index.html
A few things on there are NS4W btw. So be warned.

Well excuse me for taking the thread slightly off topic. I was just pointing out a minor error on a great looking military tug photo.

I didn't mean to offend. I apologize. Its unfortunate that things typed read as aggressive, terse, sarcastic or rude, wheras when spoken, they are utterly benign.

I was just confused about your post. I am sorry for offending you.

The technique is well known and not a Polaroid exclusive. Go to the aerial photography section here on RCGroups and search for "tilt shift". Many examples of real aerial photographs that make the scene look like a model. The opposite of Umi`s examples.
