Help!
this old speed boat

Have been given this to "fix up" for a client.
Any ideas as to what it may have looked like, and what kind of power plant.
My opinion of it.
Time period is in the 1920's or 30'. Probably had a small steam plant or maybe a white gas engine.
It is beat, so will strip the paint and go with a gloss white hull, red or blue bottom...not sure about the deck color, but white would be a good bet.
I also think I will fabricate a power plant in wood as tha actual parts maybe hard to dig up.
Tell me what your thinking please!

She looks to be either pine or cedar. probably home made.
I have some real old silver paint at home....what a shine it has and boy is it thick...like lead.

plus one for that,,, make a clean copy for the owner and put them on stand together (might be faster than stripping and refinishing the original)

So.....Does anyone have an idea on what would have powered such a speed boat.
I'm thinking of something that I can make out of wood and paint to resemble metal.

Any evidence that it was actually powered? I don't see any engine beds there... is the wood oily at all?
