Sweet! Hope the kit and parts are somewhat of a decent quality.....Will wait until flight reports start coming in to even consider this one.....

how can you resist?
$180 to your door, $190 if you are in a hurry.
motor, esc, rx, 3 cyclic servos, gyro, tail servo, ubec, battery, blades.
What is the estimated PNP completion? $600?
Used T-rex 600s are about that much.
I have an old E-smart that I am going to transfer parts from., so it is a good deal for me.

If you really want to get into the clone vs Align arguement...
This shipped is $190, Align M motor and ESC $205, and $80 for goog blades and you have basically the 600ESP kit (without the BEC and receiver battery.
Adds up to $475 for the clone and you can get the 600ESP for $550-600 shipped.
Add decent servos, gyro, receiver, and battery and you are at $1000. I don't see how you can get it in the air for $600 unless you are using $10 servos and a $20 gyro, etc...

You can buy decently equiped used T-rex 600s on runryder and helifreak for $800
I almost pulled the trigger, 176.53 with cheap shipping.

I agree. This is a pretty good starting point for alot of people. The only two things I do not like are belt drive and the anti-torque plate like a 450. I really like that it comes with a 3rd main shaft bearing.
I would think the TT could be retrofitted pretty easy.
I hope they used better bearings than they have in other things.
I have two in my cart thinking about it...

Align cyclic servo X3 = 204
align tail servo = 80
CC ice 100 = 119
CC pro BEC = 39
Scorp 4025-1100 = 115
inertia gyro = 150
total = 696
HK 600 kit = 139.99
total = 835.99
align trex 600 kit with motor, ESC , BEC = 589.99
Same servos, gyro, as above +434.00
total = 1023.99
There is about 200 bucks difference but you only get a 6S marginal performance power system with the align kit while you get a 3D ready 8S system with the HK 600 kit. Still worth the savings I think. I did not include the receiver/radio and blades cost though...depends on what you have. The RTF combo shown also has marginal components made for a 6S power system and a basic 401 gyro. Going with the HK600 airframe, with performance components still saves a significant amount of money compared to getting an align kit with some marginal components. I think it's a really good deal in the end but I think I'll wait for the 700 version since I already have a trex 600.

No arguement that it is a great deal for a new kit. 80 left now!!!
The quality appears to be good, it is hard to rockwell test a picture of a rotor head.

Parts that I would replace with Align if I ever got the kit (Already have a 12s ESP):
-all shafts (feathering, main & tail).
This is from experience after fixing issues on my EXI 500CF. Flies great now and saved a bunch compared to getting a T500. I understand these 500/600 clones are made by the same company (Skya?). So the problems that I found on mine could also come up on this 600 (WEAK METAL on shafts, swashplate had play on uni-ball, main gear deformed)
Safety first! These kits are so cheap nowadays that inexperienced flyers can easily hurt themselfs or others. I would NOT trust a HV system on one of these yet....

Will the Turnigy MG930 servo, Plush 80A ESC and Turnigy Typhoon 500H motor fit in the HK-600.
|Feb 10, 2010, 05:16 PM|
I believe those are S9650 size (mini?). They would probably won't fit.....
The ESC is too small, 6s setups will draw peak amps closer to 100
The motor is too small for a 600 class.
My recommendation for a 6s setup?
ICE 100A or Phoenix 110 (HV upgrade route)
Digital standard size servos (too many out there to mention!)
