Very cool service Don!

BTW, not sure if you ever got the newer version of the doppler tool I put up. It will record audio right off the video so you dont have to save it to a wav file first.

Hi Don, Here is my StarMax F-5e with your BI 3600 extra long can motor in a HET 6904 fan. I got 2 of these motors from you about a year ago. This is all the video I got from my buddy who did the filming and sent it to me. I know I can get more speed out of the motor as I was only running a 4s 3300 22C pack at the time. Thanks

Keep em flying

Hello Don.

Thanks!

I read your post at the beginning of the thread and provided a longer clip (around 6 seconds). I hope the quality is good enough.

Temp that morning was 55F.

Great Planes Rifle, MEGA 16/15/2, Hyperion 3S 1800mAh 35C, APC 4.1 x 4.1, Castle Thunderbird 54.

Thanks again!

Tim

Holy crap! I get about 165mph! I need one of these!!!!!

I get 39770 rpm as well off the audio.
39770 * 4.1 pitch/1056= 154mph pitch speed

Also a quick rough calc:

4600KV *3Slipo*3.6volts under load*80% motor efficiency= 39744rpm

Never understood how these type of modes seems to fly faster than pitch speed though.

Well, okay then!

The rpm sounds about right to me because I was getting 38,400 static on the ground.

Thanks again Don!

I hope you don't mind if I post your comments over on the Rifle thread.

I am getting the same thing but tell the person flying in the video to hold throttle a second longer to complete the doppler shift, it was cut off a little too quickly.

This is the Kangke 28" P-51 I got from you. Two passes in the clip, one each direction. Not perfectly straight & level but the winds weren't very favorable, had to work with what I had.

The throttle needs to be held about another second longer after it goes passed the camera as the doppler shift is still in process. The doppler shift got cutoff to soon when throttle was chopped.
