Don - would you please doppler test my new Wicked-Extreme-powered J-power F-16? The video is here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JU5UTBSnOAI

There are two short flights on the video. I think the second flight (which starts at 2:34 in the video) is better, because I placed the camera closer -- right up against the runway that i was doing passes over...and because the first flight was the maiden flight and I was trimming it out and getting a feel for it, so I didn't do as good a job of keeping the power at WOT for as long. Air temp was 72 F.

Thanks! I was hoping for 100 mph on this plane, but when I flew it this morning it was kind of disappointing...it didn't really seem faster than my T-45 with the same power setup, which has landing gear hanging. Maybe the new LiPos need to be exercised a few cycles or something.

You should be in the mid 90s on the 6000KV setup in the F16. Are you using the thrust tube I posted in my F16 build thread? Are you sure it is a 6000KV and not a 5400 KV?

Yes I am using the thrust tube from your PDF (and I made sure it didn't rescale this time). I'm pretty sure it's the 6000 kv motor. It's from that order where I got two of those, because the first order got hung up in the mail for a long time. The other one is in my T-45...which like I said seems to go about the same speed even with gear hanging.

What color dot is on the black heat shrink coming out of the motor. Is it red or orange? Do you know what you order number was so I can look it up.

Sky Angel 40mm MiG and Sabre

Hi Don:

Have you done any work on the 40mm Sky Angel EDFs yet or do you have any plans to do so? I think they're cute, but too slow for me, although if you have plans for an upgrade, I'll certainly consider them again.

Cheers
Joe
