Tuomo, the ballast is ballast on a rope, and yes, the rope is even supplied with the set. You can set up two strings, one with six and one with two brass slugs. The balance of the spacers are machined aluminium. Yes, it looks cluttered back there, but you are looking at the front stop of the ballast tube in the middle there and as I stated earlier, the servo tray longerons run lateral to the ballast tube as well. Here is a shot that somone else posted of the ballast sets they used, with wood slugs and not aluminium ones.
