I just got answer from the service and it works perfect:
Hi Marc,
This is a problem with the GUI giving a false "Update Failed" warning. Try the update again, and leave the LCD connected to the SK 720 until the 720's LED stops flashing red and green. This will take one or two minutes.
Thanks,
Brandon Taylor

Try starting the update without the LCD plugged in, then just as it first flashes red/green, plug in the LCD. It has to be done within about 1/2 second, and it may take a few tries to catch it. Be sure to wait until the SK720's LED stops flashing red/green before unplugging it again.

Best Regards
Art

So with firmware ver 3.10 out who has updated and how much does the "Re-level Accelerometer" help the self-leveling with the 720, also what kind of improvements if any have you seen using firmware ver 3.10 ?

Have not re-leveled yet.

Major change is support for quad copters.

Self-leveling up to 200 percent, so the heli turns level twice as fast.

Rick,

I have not updated yet. I really want to try SL at 200% just for the heck of it.I havent updated because I didnt want to take a chance that I would mess something up and it would interfere with my flying tomorrow

I dont have the pay for view log reading upgrade key yet but will get it it as soon as I update firmware and software. Just wish I could put it on a desktop and a notebook or tablet without buying 2 licenses.

Built my Beam FBL head tonight so I just need my Sk540 to show up and Ill have the littlebuzz bomb hooked up.Im trying to decide on a head for my Outrage 550 now.

From Skookum;

JImmy,

It is really hard to mess up the firmware update. I've tried. . .

Even if you lose connection, the setup will start again, transparent to you.

just make sure if you have the LCD term and if updating it that you ignor the "firmware update failed" popup and be sure to wait until the SK720's LED stops flashing red/green before unplugging it again

Firmware Updates

1. Connect your unit to your PC. Save settings as a file on you PC. Disconnect the unit from the USB cable.

2. Go to Skookum and download the new installer package.

3. Run the installer.

4. Start the new installer (3.10). Connect your unit to the USB cable.

5. Click on Utilities, select upgrade.

6. Read the instructions on the screen. When complete, the PC setup software should indicate that you now have firmware version 3.10.

Thanks Rick,
Everything worked perfectly following your instructions.

When updating the field terminal I got false DID NOT INSTALL pop up, ignored it, and a minute later it was updated

The weather is not looking good for a test spin today

The update is very quick and easy I had no problems. Skookum has one of the easiest to use update programs that I have seen. You only need an Internet connection for a very short time so itís no big deal to use it in your house or office.
