HeliHobby "high authority" tail motor pinion for Hummingbird

I don't get it...I ordered the "high authority" tail motor pinion for the IPS 7.2 volt motor which should have come with a 1.3 mm bore but it doesn't fit the motor. Anyone else have this problem? Did helihobby send me the wrong one or is there a secret to mounting the pinion?

Hey,
The hole on the pinion is too small correct? The shaft on the IPS is 1.5mm... You can get the correct pinion from:

Interesting...then I wonder why did Helihobby send me a 1.3 mm bore pinion for a 1.5 mm shaft motor? .... or is the "high authority" motor NOT and IPS motor and has a smaller bore than the IPS or EDF-50?

Hey,
I wasn't able to get a clear answer either... All I know is that the stock Piccolo Pro and IPS motors are 1.5mm...

Thanks all. I talked to someone at helihobby today and he said he'll send me new pinions. I'm not sure if it was Sean. I like the way they take care of you without much hassle. Thanks to Heli Hobby for not abandoning your customers (believe me, some do).

Hey,
Did helihobby give you a refund or are they sending you the correct pinion? I am looking for a 10T 1.5mm pinion too...

I sent Precision Products an email four days ago and they still haven't replied. Any ideas where I can find the correct one?

I'm new to this thread, but I carry all the different GWS motor setups as well as pinions. Is the pinion that is being used on this heli one that is a stock size?? I mean the same pinion used in IPS motor setups? If so, let me know what you need. I carry all stock GWS Pinion sizes.

Thanks,
KsFlyer

KsFlyer,
Steve said the pinion that is included with the IPS motor will not work on the piccolo (I guess the tail gear is a different pitch).

Hardeckflier,
The high authority motor is that really long motor...

The high authority motor will give you more tail authority. Right now I am flying separates with HH gyro and the stock tail motor. Even with the HH gyro, sometimes the heli will spin if you throttle up really fast. With a high authority motor (IPS I think) or the EDF-50 motor, you should be able to punch the throttle with the tail steady. You can purchase the high authority motor and pinion at www.helihobby.com

The high authority pinion is none of the stock IPS pinions. I think the pitch might be different but not sure.
