try a 5minute epoxy... BUT make sure you mix it REAAALLY well because I didn't and my F-22s right main wing departed the fuselage while flying 3 days ago

No epoxy was included with the plane. I bought a tube of 5 minute epoxy made by locktite at Walmarts for about three bucks. We applied glue to the wing rod as well as the wing ends where they go together almost puzzle piece like. Also put a little around the wing where it intersects with the fuselage. The epoxy I bought came in a syringe type tube so equal amounts were dispensed makes it quick and easy.Just a thin layer is all is all you need its pretty good stuff. Also one word of advice if you are new to flying leave the ailerons disconnected until you become comfortable it makes the plane much easier to fly.

Always good to see a reply from you Mark, Hope your Heli will be ok, I just ordered a simulator for James so he could familiarize himself with jets. Really like the looks of the 90mm tiger hornet. James says the simulator has copters as well so maybe I'll have to look into that. Just received conformation from BH my Sky Surfer shipped so maybe two in the air at the same time oh boy should prove interesting!!!! Hey Mark have you painted any of these foam planes if so what type of paint did you use I'll need to make mine a different color for obvious reasons.

There are a few methods for painting foam. I like using water based Polyeurethene (flooring) clear coat as a base, especially on EPO as it sticks nicely. I lightly sand and prep the foam, and then coat, sand , coat, sand, coat..... until I have a nice smooth surface. This can then be finished off with any paint and the foam is protected.

Second method is to use water based acrylic paints as the don't melt/attack the foam.

All this does add weight, so go sparingly on the coats of paint. And always try a small test patch to see how it goes first.

Mark

Well i got my skysurfer today and i am very disappointed, this was a backorder brushless. It came with damage on one wing that had to have come from the factory not a huge deal the Tx looks used on the top, someone tryed to remove a sticker or something, no bind plug in package at all, no free neckstrap and fuselage looks like they put it together real quick, epoxy drips all over. The manuals looked used as well for you that have this could you do me a favor and put up a pic of the Tx, the one i have has no frequency knob on it, it is not the same Tx as the one in the manual. Contacted BH they wanted pictures, i just sent them the pictures they asked for, hope they resolve this i was so looking foward to this plane for me and my son.

Bind plug??? Frequency knob???? I'll have James post a picture when he gets home from school. The transmitter that was provided with the plane we received did not require a bind plug or frequency knob. We put eight AA's in the transmitter turned the radio on connected the battery to the plane it made some real cool noises and away it went. Maybe you could post some pictures of what you have that may help us to answer allot of questions. Also I have another sky surfer in route for myself I'll post on that as soon as it shows up.

have you thought of trying a 4S on that??? ;0
4 carbon rods.. 1 on each side of the fuselage and on on each side of a wing 4s for extra power.. that could be a dynamite.

thx wow1 i figured it out took a bit BH told me it needed a bind plug then today told me how to bind it go figure...lol i just put it all together, here is a question on the prop, is there a correct way it goes on or does it matter?I looked at the picture in the manual and think it is on right but not real sure,in my hand at full power i cant really feel it pushing or pulling.I hope it is on the right way,did you notice that before you flew it.BH would not replace the damaged wing nor would they replace the Tx with the removed sticker told me that it was made in china and it passed through many hands and they were not liable but they did offer a full refund, not what i wanted so i unpacked it and built it.Used 5 min epoxy but it still feels tacky after a few hours so ill wait till tomorrow to maiden it thx again for your reply wow1

thx pavcon i checked it and have it set up right, but alas its snowing today but the plane is ready to go.One thing i did notice when i give it throttle with the trim at the bottom i don't get any power till about half stick but with the trim at the top it gives power at about an eighth stick.I think that the epp in the motor mount area is touching the motor in a few places but not enough to bind it up,don't really want to mess with the housing.Once it gets power and is moving i can lower the throttle without it stopping,it just happens when you first give it power.

Just brought the plane inside. We had the' same questions about prop direction as well. I just tried to photo it but you can't see it well enough to be of any help. However, there are what I would describe as small angled tips on the end of the prop these are pointing toward the front of the plane. James actually put the prop on and when we powered it up it moved a lot of air so we figured good to go. When I powered the engine up there is a definite strong pull like oboy hold on pull sounds like you may have the prop on backwards to me. Plane has more than ample power in stock configuration probably faster than it should be. I find that the plane flies great with maybe 20 to 25 percent power. James received his flight simulator last night and immediately started on jets looks like I'll need to work some OT!!!! Just got a chance to read some of the other posts. How about this Saralyn polite well spoken or typed. Pete is learning to delegate, well done!! BH moving forward awesome.

which sim i bought realflight g5 it is so awesome my favorite to fly is the Osprey its alot of fun the multiplex easystar is cool wish it was 4 ch not 3ch but still alot of fun.On the prop i got it on right the first time(beginners luck) lol i too used the picture to get it right those pictures are really bad and out of focus makes it hard for a beginner. WoW1 are ya gonna make some flight videos soon?Me and my son will as soon as it stops snowing,BTW think it a bad idea to land on snow instead of grass ?
