DC-3 Pictures....

These are some pictures that were taken a week ago at the Apollo RC park in Encino, CA.

My friend, Ken Simmons was able to capture some fantastic shots of the Dynam DC-3 in flight.

Check out those moon shots!

Very nice. The moon shots are cooler than the other side of the pillow!

Jim,

Thanks for posting these stunning photos of my Dynam C-47. I look forward to thanking Ken personally next time I see him.

I have two. They are great flying planes. You do have to get accustomed to their ground handling, but it's not a big deal IMHO.

I set my timer for six minutes with a 2200 and have plenty of battery left in the event I need to go around a time or two on landing. I generally put back about 1300 after a 6 minute + flight. I have also flown it for 10 minutes on a 2650 a couple of times. I fly scale like, around 1/2 throttle, with a WOT pass or two for fun.

I like my planes a bit nose heavy so I have added some weight to mine. The battery compartment seems to have been designed with 2200 3 cell batteries in mind. I have several from different makers and they all fit with a little room to move them for or aft if you feel the need.

The 2650 fits snuggly and gives pretty good flight time, not sure why you would need a bigger battery than that.

I guess you could trim out some foam if you want to run a 3300 or something like that.

You'll love the DC-3 when you get it. They are great little flyers right out of the box, or you can mod them easy if you like.

With the 3000's I'm not sure how long they will last but I come in around 10-11 min and they were down to about 40%. I fly it as close to scale as I can and don't push it.
