Took my Army C-47 up this evening.

I'm just learning to use Movie Maker, so don't be harsh.

love it...... Your plane inspired me to order a new one. I'm a Navy brat so I am going to do a Orange & Grey Navy version.

Love the landing lights. Also need to do flaps.
I too live in Mountains and my landing strip is only 300 feet one way in and one way out with a power line on short final..

Thanks,
Mine is based on a plane the Army used for a mapping mission in the 1960s. It had been retired by the Navy. The Army rebuilt it, but painted it in the same sceme the Navy had used, just replacing the word NAVY on the fuse with ARMY.

I want to do another, but do the NAVY plane that was the first plane to land at the South Pole. I'll have to fabricate skies for that one

The orange makes it easy to see, even several hundred feet out.

Jim

Navy brat...sort of explanes the boat restoring career:-)

Where is your cg position now?
P51 flyby, you don't seem happy with the 65 mm cg position (which I use as well). Could you keep us informed about where you finally set it and its advantages and disadvantages.

when I first got the plane I felt it was to far back also. Put some weight in the nose flew better but would not flair.... so I have just learned to fly it like it came...and am used to it now. this plane is a qurekey flyer for sure.

quicherbichen,

Freaky. We are both in Altadena (Pas) and I just received my DC3 yesterday. Where do you fly?

Already completed the tail wheel steering.

Jim-- Nice countryside, lazy sunset, and a perfect view out the window at seat 3D... thanks for the ride.

Nice video. Good looking plane.

I think your landing strip is a lot tighter than the one I fly from. Good job landing in such tight quarters.

Got in a couple more flights this evening.

This and my FMS Cessna 182 are my "go to" planes for relaxing, fun, scale flying.

And, who knew a cheap keyfob cam would be so much fun!?
