Having extra power is fine but really overpowering these types of planes is out of place in my opinion. There is someone in one of my clubs with this DC-3 and he has it overpowered with some eflite motors and flies it like a stunt plane. It looks ridiculous flying like that.
To each his own, but I like to fly the plane as close to scale as possible no matter how it's powered. The full size plane was never designed to fly like a stunt plane.

I agree completely. I only fly in a scale manner with all my scale planes. My Skybus is overpowered because I happened to have the 480's in my scrounge drawer.

Yep. It takes as much or more skill to fly a plane scale as it does to fly it out of it's element.

I feel that watching a model fly, is similar to looking at a piece of art. Just that the model moves and is controllable. And the quality of the art work is relative to the skill of the pilot(artist).

And there you have differing opinions. Me personaly most everything I own is over powered from my stroker in my Wrangler to my Trainer 40T with a Fox Eagle III 60 on it, scale is cool, but don't know those that don't care about it either. I just picked up a Goldberg Super Chipmunk with a Saito 100, isn't that overkill? But what fun!

I don't know art, but I know what I like...And that's being able to get her up, fly around a bit, then land without ending up turning the whole thing into a white cloud of confetti.

There you go, and for most of us that is it right there, a complete fun flight that isn't kit to kit flying.

Realflight simulator for DC-3

I just switched from Phoenix to RealFlight 5.5, and now I'm looking for a twin-engine model. Is there any model on RF that is close to the Dynam plane?? I have the C-47 model, although I assume it does not matter.

thanks for any suggestions.

Real Flight Add-ons Vol. 2 has an electric DC-3, if that's close enough for you.

Yeah, I had the same problem. Hope they didn't just recycle my bad ESC harness into your kit.

Go to page 42 for my first post on the problem, and then follow for several pages. Or just do a search for all of my posts.

Bottom line---they finally sent me a new ESC harness and that fixed the problem. They didn't send me the correct harness, and I had to modify it to make it fit. Maybe they will send you an ESC harness that fits the C-47/DC-3.

I've chimed in here before and voiced myself wanting to do the paint scheme of the biggest weather vane but last week I took some glam shots of my van in front of it.
