Neat boat. I read the book "90 degrees north" I think was the title and It was funny how they bought all the auto cooling system sealant they could find from local auto parts stores before that first trip under the pole...unofficially purchased of course...

Very cool planning work here. Im liking it. Bout time this historic boat is available as a rc model.

I have wanted this boat for a few years now and the lack of one on the market to fit my want is finally going to end. Being stationed next to the thing has been nothing but a tease... and a blessing.

My wife and I visited Groton last summer when we stayed at Mystic to view the old ships. What a wonderful step back into sailing history - and then the museum in Groton was the peak. Some of Merriman's models were plastered on the walls.
The Nautilus was smaller than I imagined, and I realised then that I preferred the WWII boats like the Clamagore and Drum. They just seem to be more dangerous, yet in truth, they aren't.

Are you going to oil can the upper casing at all on the plug?

Did Nautilus have a different sail between launch and decommission? I know she had sail damage from a collision but was it a whole new one?

The sail was changed during its life. A dome piece was added to the top much like the sails on the Skate class.
