Would the pittmans be okay if you took the gear heads off the motors?

Pulled off a gearbox off for a peek and better 2 leave em on as there would be only a very stubby drive shaft if I removed all the gears. Having pulled the cover off I must say its a sweet little gearbox. Very quiet running (should have bag loads of Torque) when hooked up 2 my 12v OO railway Speed control transformer. Should be fine in tug on 12v after all its a tug not a warship!

Cheers Bruce

cold is a relative term to an Aussie, I live in south eastern Idaho with normal temperature variations throughout the year from 110 down to -15f so cold has a little different meaning! LOL

HAHA, you have to ask the man what his definition of cold and wet is.

My definition of cold and wet is when the temperature is hovering around 0 degrees Celsius and the rain is coming down so hard that if you were to walk the ten feet from the door to the car you would be soaked, roads turn into creeks, basements flood, and the sun hasn’t been seen for days. Of course when the temp does drop below zero it plummets to minus 15 or 20 and the humidity goes through the roof, then the wind picks up and we end up with a humidly -30 or so with wind chill factors. Of course ive never been back east during the winter, those guys probably think we are all wimps out west.

I am assuming though that Bruce isn’t thinking the same as me. He could be worried about it dropping to 20 degrees Celsius and rain might be a 5 minute spritz. Then again, he could be talking about just getting out of the shower and there's a stiff breeze.

Bruce what is the rain like where you live? What is your idea of cold and hot?

Curious. Some people live where the weather is quite nice year round.

Cheers,

Ha ha !!! Coldest here has been (this year) approx 10 deg C with a howling Southerly wind comin in off the Southern Ocean. This year has been a consistently cold winter compared 2 previous years We haven't had a lot of rain in previous winters so this year has been an improvement. Summer here we usually get a avg temp in mid 30's C with peaks of up 2 a week in mid 40's in Jan. Spring and Autumn R usually pretty nice conditions mid 2 high 20's

My parents live in Seattle and are UW alums, I am way to familiar with Pacific Northwest 'liquid sunshine' weather. LOL

Hey Bruce,
why do you think I moved from Adelaide to Brisbane, you can keep your cold and wet, I like warm and dry.

I just went and had a look at google earth, the most southern part of Australia (Tasmania) is still closer to the equator than the southern most part of the UK is

Adelaide is approximately the same latitude as Morocco .
