Wow that is a big one!! wide 2!! YOU have now officially got the boat builder Virus!!
Ran into a fella down here who has started HMS Hermes (Falkands era build) and a younger bloke who has been building Bismark in 1/72!! He was telling us his hull weighs 80kg! and is 1/2" f/g!! Plus another who has a Flower class Corvette and is looking at getting an APS Liberty ship semi-kit busy recruitment weekend down here!! Cheers Bruce |

Wow its been awhile since I did anything with the tug! Finally the couplings I ordered from the UK have turned up!! Sanding around the korts is nearly done and I may have the Tug semi operational for our club run on Sunday!! Need 2 install motor mounts, fit rudder servo and set up ESC's. Then I will be able 2 get stuck into make up the decks on this beast.

Got ESC's hooked up and tested them, they seem reasonable (for cheapie $15 ESC's!!) just need 2 set up some fuses, get some more rod for rudder linkages and fill shafts with oil then I can put her in the test tank for some test's.
![]() ![]() With 2x 12v7ah batt's I will still need about another 5kg of ballast!! 2 get her to the waterline!! fortunately I can borrow some of USS Long Beach's ballast lead for this test. Should have some pic's up tomorrow!! ![]() ![]() Cheers Bruce |

Got some test tank & a lake run done today. Good news and bad news... fried a cheapie ESC it will only go fwd now after an audible POP from within!!
![]() Because these Pittmans R geared 5.6:1 she is a slug on 12 volts not even scale speed!! Ended up 'borrowing' my mates FR15 Electronize ESC and running both motors off it on 24 volts!! Not fast but much more scale I will have 2 order some FR15's or change drive setup. (maybe 3:1 geared instead of 5.6:1) Gave her a bit of a test run at the local lake and She steers beautifully and is stable even in gusty winds Cheers Bruce |

Hey Bruce it only reached 36 today
96 for Foo( you can keep that cold over there thank you very much)I remember every year around Caravan and Camping show (we owned Boots Camping back in the day) we would get a week of 40-45 (104-113). Shifting half the store to the Show grounds and back in that heat was not fun ![]() Nick |
