That really is absurd.

(I am not saying people should not get training in whatever kind of firearm they choose to use/own, but constitutionally, the govt has no right to enforce training as a prerequisite to the right. We can discuss this in another thread if you want, don't want to get into a debate here.)

I think the 2nd Amendment's provision for "a well-regulated militia" could be construed as possibly even requiring, let alone permitting, licensing and registration.
