Fellas,
Thanks for all the positive feedback! I have really enjoyed working on these planes.

The plane is covered in ultracote. After purchasing a scrap booking cutting machine and messing with it a little, I figured out a good system for laying down sheets of ultracote or (Monokote) and using the software (that came with the cutter) to create the designs. Then I use frisket paper or transfer tape to set them just right on the plane, then just iron them on. Works pretty slick! I wanted to make an elaborate story that I cut all those hexagons by hand but I didn't!

Mike, care to elaborate on the system? I have done some cutting using the sticky back Ultracote but never attempted Monokote. TIA.

Yeah, I'm interested too. I have a cutter, but never tried cutting iron on film with it. I'd think Ultracote would be best because of the stiff backing.

What I think I'll do is figure out how to get a video made and put it on here cuz I think it would be easier to show everyone verses trying to explain. Stay tuned I'll try to get that done maybe this next weekend.

The rudder and elevator need to be exposed. You can use torque rods or separate servos with direct linkage for the ailerons.

Demo of Film Covering Cutter

Hello Everyone,

I said I'd get a video done that gives a quick basic run down of the process I use to cut the decals and graphics. So, here it is. I hope this gives you guys an idea of what it can do and answers any questions.

Thanks for Looking!

Kudos to you Red on both the Invictus, and the AR-6. Hope to be racing the Nemesis this year if I can find a race to go to in the Midwest. I am looking at trying to host a race if I can secure a site at a local small airport.

Outrageous

Some pictures of my sratch built Outrageous, just copied all the parts from a kit that I have. Alot of work but fun, did some changes with the fuselage, 1/8" balsa sides and sheeted the turtle deck.
Covered it down here in FL. but still have some things do when I get back to Ontario, should be finished for the spring.
