Great looking Pogo! You will definitely be able to distinguish your Pogo from the others during a race but..so will the cut judges .

I am seriously jazzed right now!
I just raced in my first ever pylon race today in Austin! It was most amazing and I hope it won't be my last race. My Pogo even survived the day in those winds!

The Austin, Texas ARCA club sponsored the race and some of the top names in pylon racing came to race! It was like nothing I've ever witnessed!

There was a sad but spectacular head on mid air, and two beautiful planes were utterly destroyed.

It was my first time ever even seeing a pylon race of any description, much less piloting a plane in one!

Many thanks to ARCA, Robert Y. and all the racers I know and met for a most awesome day!

The best news is that, once you've got the Pylon Bug, it never really ever goes away!!

It's been over 30 years since I've raced in an "official" pylon event, and I had a great time going fast and turning left. I even made a few laps that I thought were pretty good.

I'm one of the two folks that didn't get to see the midair, because we were flying in that heat. Sad loss of two beautiful planes.

Thanks to ARCA for a great event, and thanks to Robert Youens for helping get this going.

How do you manage a head on mid air? That would have been interesting to watch.

I did see a q-500 staged for the next round, just off of the couse, past pylon 3, Get nailed by a Nelson powered Q-500 that hit the ground coming around 3! The plane staged was completely destroyed and had never even flown in a race. Oh, that Nelson made it half way to pylon one before hitting the ground. No plane attached, just the nose section.
I gave him the best crash trophy.

The wind was really strong at the races. I had a hard time deciding to even race my first race, as I can fly, but going that fast with a huge wind was scary.

Coming out of turn 2 tended to push the plane away from you. I think one of the planes involved was pushed into the other lane.

It was spectacular to say the least. The planes looked like they just exploded! I have never seen a crash that intense! I sure wish there was a video of it.

And thank you Jim! It was a pleasure racing with you, too!
