Caution: Do not inadvertently skip this step!
The recommended Center of Gravity (CG) range for
the Twist™ is 4"–5" behind the leading edge of the
wing against the fuselage. It is suggested to start at
the forward end of the range until comfortable with
the flight characteristics of your aircraft. If
necessary, move the battery pack or add weight to
either the nose or the tail until the correct balance is
achieved. Stick-on weights are available at your local
hobby shop or Harbor Freight and work well for this purpose.
Thanks. I checked mine and the CG is at 5 behind the leading edge. I flew it today with the Saito 82. I only got in one flight because it was club day and I was also flying my LamYak. I hadn't flown the Twist or the Lamyak in about a year. The Twist flight went just fine until I ran out of fuel. I was a fair distance from the runway and without much altitude, so I elected to make a nice landing in the goldenrod. I really like the 4S engines.

The LamYak with Nate's Saito 72 flew much better than I had remembered it flying, and the engine was great. Thanks Nate.

Well, I manned up and maidened the slick this afternoon! Did three flights and I meant to bring my iPad for video but in my excitement, forgot the damn thing however, a guy from the club did take some video with his camera and said he would send it so stay tuned.

Some observations:

I have the motor tuned very well think.....no popping except the very bottom and after the first start of the day, it literally started on the first flip each time! Flying wise I dedicated the first flight to trimming it out. That consisted of 4 clicks of up and one click of right aileron. The next two flights I rung it out a bit and did the usual rolls, stall turns, loops and a couple snaps. I am flying it on low rates and it was very manageable. CG seems to be spot on...a very small amount of nose heavy. Lots of power! Flies very precisely. Best of all, the landing were ridiculously slow and easy!! Overall, I absolutely LOVE his plane and look forward to getting to know it better

I had a Saito 82 on my TT40. Worked nice. Barbie, the pilot, was not very good and her wheels kept falling off.

Not a Twist but all the video I shot today.

MT I'll bet you could fly this plane while he's there.
41" Edge - Driveway Hucktacular (3 min 48 sec)

Kerwin,
I just purchased a 3DHS 46" Vyper during the 3DHS garage sale last week (thanks Nate for alerting me to the garage sale!). I have the plane and I must say it is a gem. Wonderfully built; it has a large following and thread on RCG. The plane will go together in a few hours; I ordered the servos, motor, and ESC today, they should be here by Wednesday and I hope to fly it this weekend! I'm sure you will not be disappointed in a 3DHS airframe. 3DHS sells planes from 41" to 126" for both gas and electric, so they do have a wide variety of options.

I also think you are correct - you could fly a small plane like this even if the president is around and (hopefully) no one would notice. I'll be flying mine anywhere I can find room - I don't even need to go the club field to fly this one, the local soccer field will do just fine!

Here's a link to the 46" Vyper thread - there are some nice pics on page 1:

Here's a link to the "Buck Huck" (41" Edge) forum thread:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1226319

This (Twistaholics) thread is crazy busy in my opinion. The general 3DHS Addicts thread is even more so - they post so many pages in a day that I can't keep up with it.

Of course, not to be too biased to 3DHS, Extreme Flight also has some very nice 3D airframes!

I wish the ability to Huck came with every purchase.
