Congrats to your Mom Wado, sorry about the tweplica but you are one of those builder guys so I think it will be OK.

The weather station is on top of a 50' tower. It gives pretty accurate information for our field since I am about 3/4 mile as the buzzard flies.

Did 7 flights on TT60 today and they were all great. Mike, we didn't get a drop of rain down here by us but it was NASTY hot and an humid. As the day went on the plane made less and less power, lol. Still a fun day

By the time the rain stopped here, I was helping my mom get water out of her basement - clogged drain outside the door caused a small pool which leaked into the basement. Now its blazing hot and humidity is 75%

Kind of amazing that you got none of this rain!

Guess I'll try again tomorrow morning...hoping the rain holds off tomorrow!

Glad you were able to fly your TT60 today; got any video?

-Mike

INCH OR MORE IS POSSIBLE THROUGH NOON. LOCAL ROAD CLOSINGS HAVE
BEEN REPORTED.

* RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL MAY CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO

The fun never ends; just got another alert from NWS...Wayne, if I could send this water down to you, believe me, I would. Just two days ago, we hadn't had any rain for over 12 days...now we're getting a months worth or more in just a few days.

URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED
FLOOD WATCH
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHICAGO/ROMEOVILLE IL
415 PM CDT SAT JUL 23 2011

..VERY HEAVY RAINFALL POSSIBLE AGAIN TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY...

FOR THE THIRD DAY IN A ROW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED
TO DEVELOP AS SEVERAL MID LEVEL DISTURBANCES INTERACT WITH A WARM
FRONT ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS. IT APPEARS THAT SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL EFFECT THE REGION THIS EVENING.
HOWEVER...LATER TONIGHT ANOTHER COMPLEX OF THUNDERSTORMS MAY
DEVELOP ACROSS NORTHERN IOWA AND THEN TRACK EAST SOUTHEASTWARD
ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS. CONSIDERABLE UNCERTAINTY EXISTS AS TO
WHETHER OR NOT THESE STORMS WILL DEVELOP. SHOULD THESE STORMS
DEVELOP...THEY WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL
ACROSS AREAS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN INUNDATED WITH EXTREMELY HEAVY
RAINFALL OVER THE PAST 48 HOURS. BECAUSE OF THIS...RUNOFF FROM ANY
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL LIKELY OVERWHELM MANY SMALL STREAMS AND
DRAINAGE SYSTEMS POTENTIALLY LEADING TO AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS
SITUATION IN SOME AREAS.
..FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN ILLINOIS...
BOONE...COOK...DE KALB...DUPAGE...KANE...KENDALL...LAKE IL...
LEE...MCHENRY...OGLE...WILL AND WINNEBAGO. IN NORTHWEST
INDIANA...LAKE IN AND PORTER.

* THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING.

* ANOTHER ROUND OF THUNDERSTORMS WHICH COULD PRODUCE MORE
SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL ACROSS THE AREA IS POSSIBLE. DUE TO THE
EXTREME AMOUNT OF RAINFALL THAT HAS ALREADY FALLEN ACROSS MUCH
OF THE WATCH AREA...ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL LIKELY LEAD TO
A HIGH AMOUNT OF RUNOFF AND ADDITIONAL FLASH FLOODING.

* RUNOFF FROM THIS HEAVY RAINFALL COULD OVERWHELM MANY SMALL
STREAMS AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS POTENTIALLY LEADING TO AN EXTREMELY
DANGEROUS SITUATION IN SOME AREAS.

Got my covering in today for the T 60. I work tonight and one more night so should start covering Monday or Tuesday. Pearl copper and pearl white are my colors of choice this time. Should look sharp. I'll post some pics when I get covering on.

Got a little fishing in this afternoon... along with a little sunset flying of the Polaris....

only casualty (if you call it that) was my wife cell phone.... she slipped out of the boat into about 6" of water with her cell phone in her pocket...

and me without a camera.... was a definite Kodak moment.... I thought she was going to hurt herself laughing so hard....

If I take off, stay in the air for 10 minutes, and land without breaking anything, I think I am a pilot GOD!

Trivia, there was a 101 degree temperature differential between Algeria at 118 and -83 in Antarctica.

Been waiting for a replacement motor for the FunCub a member crashed the other day. It came in this morning, I put it on this afternoon, put the plane on the flight stand to test the motor, big vibrations, changed props, same thing, double checked the prop balance, not a problem, ran my FunCub WOT, no problem, changed props from my FunCub to the other FunCub, the motor shaft breaks off the new motor.
