Bill now your scaring me. I don't know now if I'll ever be able to try hovering my MX so low. An Boy was that engine wound up.
Snowman PLEASE don't hold back. Now you should take your twist with you, I'll bet you can find a club down there.
You know the only time I miss the big city is when I want to go fly an can't find anyone, There was a time in my life when I would go to the field 5 times a week. My wife then left me because of it. Come to think of it, the last time I seen her (50 lbs heavier) I was ever so glad my planes gave her the boot. And I wouldn't be with the wife I have now GOD BLESS THIS HOBBY

Chuck, I just ordered one from hxelepro360, went right through. This time I got the 2000 mAh external battery, good for 200 mins! Now I need some more micro SDs to fill up.

Funtana Hi-Jinks

Waldo, Thanks, that was fun. Engine was CRRC 26cc, just a little underpowered. Was OK to hover, but had to fly it out of "mistakes".

Kerwin50, Ya the closer the better. No fun if it doesn't scare me a little. That CRRC 26cc is a scooter engine and needed to be revved to do the job.

Looks nice. I need to drill mine for my YAK. That plane would be really gorgeous if it was black and ORANGE.

Couple of pics of the grass on the wings and green stain on the prop.

Waldo's Kadet save brought it to mind.

That was a bit too low. The last TT60 video, I "hovered" for a second or two about 15' off the deck. New low for me.

Long Version

Here is the original long version of the 2nd Heat.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il8Rks_JwuA

8 minutes and 52 seconds.

Watch it in the 720p HD mode if you can. You will see the difference from the 480p version.

The countdown starts in the 2nd minute somewhere. Otherwise just waiting around for the start.

Enjoy,

Bill

Well, the FunCub is nearly ready to maiden. I just need to reset the flaps and ailerons, then set the throws and do the CG. I took a quick vid with the plane assembled and the lights on.

This has sooooo much unnecessary weight.

Well, ran into a weird issue with the HS985MG servos on the slick today. Installed and rigged up the aileron and rudder servos and in doing so, while they were hooked up (and powered through the reciever), I noticed they were acting strange. Chattering, not moving smooth...like fluttering through the range. Turns out they absolutely do not like more the 6 volts. I had my A123 hooked up which puts out about 6.8V charged up. So I put a spare 4.8V NiMH that was registering about 5.3 volts on the receiver and no more problem...did not expect that actually.

Guess I need a voltage regulator between the battery and receiver Damn gassers, lol

It will probably be fine on a NiMh 6V pack. My retract servo is 4.8V only. They need to discontinue all those or upgrade them.

Says it is a 6V servo. can go 180 degrees. Interesting.
