man K50, that is a meaty looking thumb.

It is supposed to be kind of crappy this weekend so i don't know if I am gonna get to fly.

So far the new job is going good. I work in a warehouse with no a/c but its all good. I just keep looking at it like I am sweating the fat away as I sit here and eat cookies

I swear this motor is going to be a problem, had to remove the little fuel nipple to get the the motor mount bolts, nipple broke off. At least the threaded part came out easy. I needed Muffler bolts and gasket too so the order was worth the price of admission at least.

Thanks Again Wayne

Wayne; I'll prolly just go buy some o-rings. This pipe is more leaky than anything else I've seen on a Saito but you'd think it'd still be OK since I assume it's fairly consistent. Never know though. RC cars get PISSED OFF when there's even the slightest bit of exhaust leak.

This is on and RC car?!

I don't care then.

That is what my clicking was coming from. I took the spinner cone off and tightened it up and the click is gone.

I got it running and tuned it up to the max rpms of about 10000 with a 15x4w. I feel pretty good about that... it pulls like no other. I think it ran out of fuel before I got it tuned properly and I had to run to work so next time I get it out I'll adjust it properly.

Sorry for the false alarm on the motor but thanks for all your help as usual.

-Nate
Ok, this is maybe just me, but 10000 is too many RPMs static to me. If you can pull 10k, you can go bigger on the prop.

Also, the engine will unload in the air and can go lean with the extra RPMs. Make double sure you check the RPM rating on the engine.

10K is too many....it's gonna over rev in the air...

Bring on the heat!!

Well, I am finally back at my computer instead of just the stupid Iphone!! Speaking of that stupid thing, here is a vid from yesterday. This is the second of three deadstick landings, the third resulting in a flipped over plane and some heartburn, but otherwise, no damage! Sorry for the vid quality, it helps if you blow it up to full screen.

Extra 260, deadstick landing (5 min 15 sec)

Thats the way it was here last weekend. My darn motor didn't want to stay running due to the heat. Sometimes you just gotta sit in the a/c and fly later.

Plowboy, I see you still fly too far out! Must have been somewhere over Florida on that flight!

It jams up or binds

I love the sound of a saito and how it works with a twist 60

Moved into a new home and had a hard time unpacking etc.

last time moveing was 15 years ago

This thread can be so emotional

well the van is loaded and ready for tomorrow, have to see If I can get there early and try to get our field cut, The riding mower has been giving us problems and I've only been able to do the runway in shifts letting the mower cool down, Not allot of time for that nonsense.

and can't find the camera, I think the wife may have left it at work I've been sick with a cold/cough for a week and she got it yesterday.
all I know is its FLYING DAY regardless of weather wind or the 90's like they are predicting for tomorrow.

Nice vid as always plow

And the event in Europe does look fun

Short story - I used to listen to Patton's speech (from the movie) every morning before I went to work. (Staff Sergeant - Army Artillery)

Working on the big YAK again. Changed the aileron servo, tightened the rudder linkage and added some throw, and took the power switches out to remount them. I am going to try to move the bats to let me take the lead off the tail.

I built a catapult launcher. Waiting for the surgical tubing to arrive. It is in a Hobbycity order along with the covering for the Wild Stick. Hmmmm, that Wild Stick would make a terrific tow plane. I bet it could pull paint off a wall.

Planning to put blind nuts on the Kadet Senior for attaching accessories to the bottom. I want to setup a flag tow before 7/4. I will start with a streamer and work up from there.

My replacement FunCub kit should be here Tuesday.

Kite flying weather all weekend. 30+ gusts.

Supposed to Go to St. Mary's, GA mid-June.

* Night.
