bummer on the crash Mike. I'm glad it wasn't YOUR plane. It's funny cuz I caught myself with reversed ailerons just before take-off on my twist maiden. You just have to take that 5 sec and make sure everything is going the right way.

I flew the twist with the saito 72 and 13x4W prop. All I can say is WOOOOOOT! Hovers at half throttle and has a pretty good climb. I had lots of fun hovering it pretty low. I'm glad I got a good motor despite the little dent in the manifold that wasn't disclosed by the seller.

I found out it runs for about 15 min and 30 sec on a tank I got the double sputter and a deadstick maybe 8-10 ft high with not all that much airspeed but at least I was in a horizontal attitude. The twist just glided for about 50 ft and came down nice and soft. Just a bit of a walk for me to go retrieve it.

I can't get my twist to do much of a flat spin inverted and no flat spin at all right side up. Maybe my CG is too far forward? I have max throw on the rudder without getting a longer servo arm. Don't ask me for a measurement on the CG cuz I have no idea lol.

I know I'm a bit tail heavy cuz when I went inverted on a 45 degree climb the nose didn't drop to complete the loop. It just stayed at 45 deg.

Overall it was a real nice outing this morning. More vids coming

lol speaking of reversed control surfaces...

It's amazing when you ask someone if their controls are right, they check them and say yes. You tell them 'right aileron' and they push the stick left.
A friend of mine did this. Surprisingly, it was his first non-simulator flight and he was able to land the thing damage-free... It wasn't ANYWHERE NEAR the runway, but it was unscathed, only to be crashed WOT on an inverted pass later that night. LOL

I had another guy with his rudder reversed try to take off like 5 times before I went and checked everything over just to find the rudder backwards.

Also, hi everyone!

It's all good! I've been accused of being a little hot blooded myself, although, for the life of me, I can't understand why!

I always and I mean always check my control surfaces before I fly. I have my aileron wires labeled too so I know I always hook them up the same way. I also do a range check to make sure everything is working properly. I am a po white boy so I need to make sure everything is ok before I take off. Besides I can crash well enough on my own without control surface issues

What????????? The Plowboy get a bit excited Who'd uh Thunk

Flew a bit today. Sent up Darwin, the mismatched everyhing Peak YAK. Flew great. Then lost sync on the motor (elect, of course) left a nice smoke trail on the way down. Oh yeah, I was just pulling out of a hover when the motor appeared, I say appeared to fry. Got the nose down, but not enough airspeed or altitude to make the field, but gave full upat the last minute and managed to pancake it in. Need major LG repair, but fixable in a couple of hours at most. Now I just got the motor torn apart and it rings out clear, no opens or shorts, no sign of burned anything. So, now I put it all back together again and try again.

Still a good day.

WAIT A MINUTE, Plowboy hot blooded ??????????????

I remember learning to fly on that GP cap 232. I had a couple hours of repairs needed after every trip out. NOT A TRAINER lol. I probly still can't land that thing worth a dang. I had plenty of deadstick practice with it though and plenty of landing gear repairs needed.

Nate's hangar 9 twist with saito 72 (3 min 46 sec)

I wish I would have gotten more video after this flight. It flew a lot better after I took the weight off the front.
