Need at least 700 watts and 5 cells, but I get instant thrust. Tried a 13-4 also and that how I managed to create the last repair. the 6.5 has much more instant thrust than the 4 pitch. Still, it's about what you like.

Yeah Waldo, Congrats, even if I am a little late.

That 12X7 had everyone jaw droppin with the vertical, but I will give it a try. Its a 900 watt motor on 6S, so I know 5S has the 700 down.

Today I flew my first glow is 20 plus years. Seagull Harrier 40 with a Saito 72 4 Stroke, its been a while since I was that nervous on the sticks. My buddy with the 35% extra handed me his transmitter and made me fly the Harrier

The Harrier is a good Airframe, a bit fragile, but flies good. There is one at my Mc Minnville field and it hangs in the air better than the t---t I think

If you try the 13-6.5 I would say definitely drop to 5 cells. That 6 cell setup is why the 12-7 works so good. I used to fly the 5S on 12-8 and it was pretty good, so I imagine the 12-7 on 6S will be close to the same thing.

Little Help...again

I am a MonoKote guy and I have never used Ultracote that Hanger 9 uses. I understand it is a lower temp covering, seems a tad thicker, but the same principal.

What can you use on safely as a trim solvent to seal down the edges?

I am 5S only, the motor is rated at 900Watts on 6S, but what you say makes sence.

Laser and Pitts Special fly-by at Planes Over El Dorado (0 min 18 sec)

Laser and the Pitts flying over, a little less insanely though. LOL

Pitts, Laser, MX-2, and Extra 300L Start-Up and Taxi (1 min 59 sec)

Startup and Taxi of the 1:1 planes.

Photos to follow...

Piccytures!

I didn't honestly get much of the r/c stuff. The r/c pilots were still impressive. A couple good turbine guys as well as a couple who threw down some pretty impressive 3D and precision aerobatics.

I was just more entertained by the full scale stuff this time.

Someone should tell me what the triangular device is in the 3rd to last photo... ????

I'd say a weathervane with lights on it so you can tell which way the wind is blowing at night. Am I even in the ballpark?

That MX2 is sexy, but that Extra!! Aw man!! And there is a Pitts exactly like that one over here. I met the dude, and he let me crawl all over his airplane! The trim scheme is very close but the diamonds on the tail aren't the same.

I bet you liked that Supercub!! What a great time you all must have had!

Well, I put my T___T in....again. I was doing a ho-down and got all down in waay's ditch and the plane actually touched terra oh so firma and went squirelly, so I hit the throttle to power out and managed to get all the way to NoMatta's fence. It was loud!! But all it did was put a pinhole in the wing and chipped the prop! A piece of scotch tape and another prop and we are back in buisness!!

It was all balsabuster's fault! He dared me to do it, and then he wasn't even watching!!! Some instructor he is.

Plowboy, I really have no clue what it's for, but that makes more sense than anything else I've heard.

Thanks David. I enjoyed it.

I should also mention that I got my Rx back from Horizon. Apparently the LED was broken in the crash which is why it doesn't work. The tech couldn't get it to act up but went ahead and sent me a new one.

I did my first tests with my new Futaba 8FG tonight. Flew 4 or 5 tanks through the Twist. Switched to Cool Power 30% heli fuel and I swear it makes more power. My 13x4W APC prop actually rips pretty hard on WOT passes. It's impressive!

Also worked on my KE mix since I know I'm happy with the plane's CG. Now I can do 4-point rolls, stall turns, even add rudder in uplines without having to push on the elevator and ailerons. It flies so much better now.

I want my MX-2 back. lol

The only part left that I need is a wing tube. My wheel pants came in yesterday so I'm just about set. The stupid wing tube is proving to be a challenge though... *sigh*

It reminds me of the weathervane that balsabuster built for the club. It sits on one of the fence posts that we have to contend with. The only problem is that it's built out of balsa and covering and when the hawks sit on it their claws rip it up!! Poor balsabuster! All that and he has to fly with me!

That is the after hours wind indicator as Plow says. When no one at the FBO is manning the radio, pilots fly over the field and check this to know which way <what runway> to land. Ours was shaped like an airplane at the airport I worked at.

Great pics and vids!

It is a Tetrahedron. It is a wind indicator that points in the direction of take off and landings. Usually easier to see than a windsock. They are lighted at night. They are normally at uncontrolled and part-time controlled airports since you contact the tower at controlled airports.

There you go.
