I would test them and see. Put them on your plane, start her and see how they act.
I have had the very same issues you have and my servos worked fine.

Yeah, the guy they are flying around is costing a large country. So tired of straw men arguments and scare tactics. Threatening peoples jobs because it makes you look good politically. I say we load them all up, both side and put em on a plane and send them on a 3000 mile trip to Hawaii with 3000Km worth of fuel.

Abaser - You can operate the servos and if they work ok and you don't see any problems, you are probably good. If you want to do more due diligence, take them apart, look for problems, apply a little grease, and reassemble them.

The ones you tossed might have been OK.

The fact that I wasnt sure just how long they were wet, and when I turned them upside down to pour the brownish grey water out of them left me too uncomfortable to ever trust them.

Well, we are half way to the WRAM show on a crappy weather day. Not missing out on any flying.

I'm currently in search of a descent, cheap radio system. I'm keeping an eye on the classifieds, and I figure some of you do too, so if you run across a good deal, let me know. I'm wanting to stay at or under $100 for now, preferably 72mhz, and something with dual rates. I'm open to frequency since crystals are pretty easy to come by. If by chance a 2.4 system pops up in my budget range that can handle 2 models (enough receivers and such), I'd be open to that as well.

I have a 72 mhz futaba system I could sell. I can't remember which model it is off hand but I think it is 7 channel and has dual rates expo etc. It has seen plenty of use but worked well the last time I used it.

PM me some specifics on price and we'll discuss it.

I will... I just need to look at it and see what I actually have. The system is in my Dad's shop. It may be a bit before I get a chance to go over there.

Thanks. No real hurry.

It appears that I made a crucial mistake when I put up my old models. My practically brand new OS 40 is REALLY gummed up, and the throttle is completely frozen. Rotating the prop gives very little resistance difference between free spin (which is far from free) and compression. Whats the best way to loosen this thing up?

soaking it in a little antifreeze and then oil it up should help.
