Ok guys, remember, don't do as I do. Do as I say.
Yes I just got back from beaver park, after flying my Leccy.
The winds were light. Some where around 3 mph outta the south. Temp was 40 somthing.
I just had to do it. I took my flat foamie, the WMPF MX out. I put the battery way back for a tail heavy condition. Maybe just alittle to tail heavy but it made for some great harrier flying.
On the 2nd flight I moved the battery alittle futher forward and once again started working on doing harrier patterns. Which was going quite well but I felt my TX sticks were a little to tall.
So on my 3rd battery I readjusted the sticks a little shorter and gave her a launch.
This proved to be alittle to sensitive. Nearly hitting the powerlines I over corrected. And before I could whistle Dixie she was in the tree. I powered up as I had no other option, as she was in the tree top, pointing straight down. She powered out of the top only to get caught up in a much lower branch. I shut her down and proceed to the tree. Once I got there I grabbed a branch that was a shoot off of her captor. Shaking it, it reall seemed like she want to come loose. So with one hand on the branch, shaking it I once again applied throttle.
She came out of the tree and and was heading right for terra firma. I barely had time to to get my right hand on on the elevator stick and I still don't know how I did it. But with the tail striking the ground she shot off into the wild blue younder.
Yes this is the 1st time I ever did a take off out of a tree. I saw no reason to land her so I continued on with the flight. After that flight I readjusted my TX sticks and flew the last battery pack I had.
I've got them all on charge now and am looking forward for another flight latter on.
Heres a pic of beaver park from my apartment.

Howdy all, been keeping up best I can on the thread. Funds have been low so I havent taken to the skies at all this year. Hopefully things will be turning around soon. My wife had an interview for a dream job yesterday. Today we found out they are calling all her references. This job will be a huge pay raise, and for the first time in our lives she will be on the same work schedule as me. Life changing for sure. Means I can have a lot more family/flying time.

So let me understand this:

You were at Beaver Park this afternoon shaking a branch attempting to get your plane to come out?

And you were learning how to whistle...
And you figured out you needed a taller stick?

Why was the park named Beaver? Does Jerry Mathers live nearby or did he donate the land? I don't see any water nearby.......or scantily clad women with their _ _ _ _ _ showing. I do see some trees.....but I'm not familiar with southern trees.......up here the beaver's favorite food is poplar (aspen). Maybe some guy who liked beaver (don't we all) donated the land. Why would you fly your tree-loving leccy in an inappropriately named park anyway? Is the area a hot spot for homosexual rendezvous......I mean someone named the park "Beaver" which some women might find offensive.......leaving it as a parcel for men only? Missouri is a strange place indeed!

Well its Moms B-day today, she's 77 and still plays the drums and rocks with our band live on occasion that woman is a serious do'er lol She is also the director of booking bands in hotels and niteclubs, teaches music 5 days a week, and every night is going out with one of her friends to a casino, play, movie or something, She helps so many people I feel like a schmutze, Every Tuesday after teaching all day she goes down to the city and picks up one of her friend couples who are both sight impaired and their kids and takes them all to dinner, They were friends of my fathers and when he passed away she still kept up the tradition. This is just one of the things she does on a daily basis, and she is the director of the Soap box derby here which is a full time job in itself year round to get sponsers and racers, I know I sure as hell can't keep up with her. God bless her is all I can say
Happy Birthday to your Mom. I wish I were closer so I could take lessons and maybe play once in a while. I did get my alto sax ready to play recently.

Happy b-day to yo mamma Waldo

I just put 3 awesome flights on my ELECTRIC 51 slick man what a joy that plane is to fly. Nothing flies like a slick On the second flight I decided it was time to do some Knife Edge mixing. I had just been doing knife edge with my sticks but it doesn't inspire much confidence for bringing it down low. So I put it into knife edge going each direction to see what was happening. After landing I put some guesses into my tx for mixing aileron and elevator to the rudder. On the third flight I found I was pretty close. Landed and made a few adjustments. It is now really close to being perfect and I did my first low knife edge pass with the 51 slick. When you have it going fast you just have to barely breath on that rudder to maintain level flight. Looking forward to some fun practice now.

Wayne, taking a nap is not a bad way to spend 10 minutes either You see, I have to justify taking a little time to fly throughout the week. If it only takes a few minutes I can justify it vs. spending an hour. My life is too crazy on most days to take more than a couple of minutes so I get stick time when I can

Today was a little chilly so I wore a light jacket with my t-shirt and shorts It was a bit breezy as well... maybe gusting up to 8-10 mph.

Well good day all!! I have been away for awhile. Long time actually, Just got back from a 14 day vacation to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Very nice! Hated to leave. Busy at work. Can't remember the last time I've had time to fly. While we were away, one of my workers died in a diving accident at work. This week has been filled with investigation into the accident. I feel really bad about not being there when it happened and for the services, but more for his family. He was 41 and had a wife and four kids. Can't find the motivation to even start to put my PT 19 together or even finish the Zlin 50. Hope everyone here is well.
