Wayne... I took a look this evening, <needing to trim the stab> it seems my Elevator is seeing about 65 degrees up and about 60 down. In the down the servo arm is touching the stab. The gap I have is tight to slide a buisness card through and it did not come with Hinge Tape applied. <ailerons are>

Its been sooo long, I cannot remember if I had to glued the Elevator hinges, but I "THINK" I did on mine, its been too long ago.

Rudder Bangs the Elevators, I have seen the elevators trimmed to allow the rudder to come on around more.

Has anyone listed to the first 3DHS Pod Cast? Ben does the Top 10 Set up issues they typically see when they are at events. Honestly, I seen nothing in his list that any of us would trip over, but it really was a good discussion.

Moose made a really good point that many of today's new pilots skipped the days of the tiny balsa chuck gliders and what was learned from assembly and flying them. Adding and removing nose weight, adjusting the stab and wings and such, to make them fly good..... It was good schoolin.

It was a great podcast to listen to...really enjoyed Ben's top 10 list as well as the other things the podcast talked about. If anyone wants a link to the podcast, just send me a PM...I have it on the "3RF" site (the site that shall not be named)

You just don't fly enough to use up the power in the battery!

+2 on that...life battery in the TX is awesome...I keep checking it thinking I need to charge it, but it rarely needs it. I balance charge it once a month to be safe.

Tom,
3DHS FLI in Cape Girardeau is June 27-30 in 2013. Hopefully you can make it this time!

Kerwin, I'm expecting to see you there again!

Everyone is invited.

The biggest gain comes from the fact that a lipo or LiFe pack has a better shelf-life for storing power than those other batteries. If you leave a lipo charged on a shelf for six months (not a good idea but for illustration purposes) you will probably still be able to put it in a plane at the end of it and make a flight. It will still have like 90% of the charge you put it there with. A NiMh pack would have to be cycled and checked out a bunch and would only have maybe half its charge left.

So, a lipo or LiFe pack in your tx is just sitting there keeping its charge so you actually get to use most of it vs. having a bunch of it just drain off of its own volition.

My 9C with the synthizer must be a power hog. On a 2500 ma lipo I can only get about 5 hrs or so.
I fly that in a week easy.
Speaking of flying I'm getting the itch. I may try an sneak out for a quick flight.
An sneak out I may.
If my apartment manager sees me carrying an airplane, I'll be in trouble for sure.
She's worse than my mother.

Yes, I am uploading video. Not real exciting though.

I am pissed though. The landing gear broke on the second landing. There are two holes drilled right in the bend on each side to attach the fairings. The left side broke and delaminated right at that point. Really screwed up my day.

Now I have to see if they are going to replace it. No telling how long it will be out of commission.

No, that did not make me feel better.
