Well...it concerns me from the fact if it comes apart I really then have nothing and if the SHP is in some strange place, it's not worth loosing a chassis.

Speaking of that, where is Waldo? I thought he'd have a vid from Saturday?
Why not buy those Power HD servos from ValueHobby.com? Same price and much quicker shipping and much better customer service from right here in Illinois.

They don't have the 6001 mg.

Even though ValueHobby doesn't have these, TBM does. But why not get something similar that has metal gears such as these:

Plow, my comment on the power hd analogs is that you should buy two extra ones because out of seven you might have five that work well. I had horrible luck with the power hd 1711mg's (micro). They were very strong and fast as specified but were truly awful at centering. I ended up replacing three out of the four with hs85's before I had a plane that flew well.

I checked the reviews at hobbyking specifically looking for centering problems. Most of the reviews don't mention it but I did still find some that did. They will probably work out well but buy two or three more than you need. At that price you can afford it without breaking the bank.

I have these in my slick and they are truly awesome! Of course they are 3x the price but I think they compete fairly well with any of the top brand servos in the same class.

I've used a number of their servos, including the plastic gear 6001 hb which would strip out a lot. I've also used the 1501 mg Snowdog, and they are hit or miss. The 6001 MGs work well. I'm going to put them in my Twist. I used to get them from Tom at PlaneAddicts but he's out of business now.

Guys the main thing we need for this hoe down is lots of participation. we need to everyone to try. While I'l know I'm not going to win I'm going to have a good time trying.

Sounds like you have experience that we don't have. I had some 1501s as well. Didn't love them even though all of mine centered fine. They are heavy and slow. I have not tried the 6001s but I might now based on your recommendation. My slick is all on hv but the 6001 might be a good option for throttle and I have regulators that can turn the voltage down.

I have never heard anyone say how happy they were that they bought towerpro servos though.

The 9001MG were so nice I almost cried when that Extra that had 5 brand new ones in it exploded from that lightening strike. The 1501 seem to burn out shortly after they stall for a bit... Jon tested a few and the constantly puff smoke. The ones in the Elevator in the video of my SHP are HD servos <9150MG digitals> and are ok..222 ounce, little slow. The seem loud to me when moving.

I'm still running 9150s on my 35% Extra, but admittedly, the ele gears have gotten slobby. The good news is, I have gear sets for them.
