Nice maiden Kerwin

Bookmarked until Monday going to a Yankee game tomorrow
Great flying this morning even did 2 rolling loops with the glider being towed like Wayne's lol I hit the release on the first loop and it released after the 2nd loop lol keycam on the glider I can't wait to see that one
Happy days all and good luck with the gooseses Snowman

If it aint fuel driven its a leccy no matter how big or small as ther is always the 049 engines for those park flyers I believe I've even seen a .010 sized engine so there is no excuse lol

Waldo I know you are joking but there is no way you would be able to get the power/weight ratio to fly 3d on one of those small glow engines.

Today the president of the club told me it is ok to fly like 1 km away from the pit.

The new rules for fpv and Maac clubs is no buddy box is needed

So now I can maiden and fly fpv at a club in Canada without buddy box

Drove over 1 hour away from my home to only turn back and drive 1 hour back
Decided not in the mood to fly
Did fly ez star for 20 min regular rc

From my experience if not in the mood then don't fly

Even if I waste 2 hours drive time

Anyone ever calculate actual flying time for a rc plane versus the time spent thinking about and actual building a plane

My general record is like 1 to 10

Like only 10per cent flying time

Still have 3 planes rtf and not ever maddened

I should fix my hlg hand lunch glider, garnet, and get some exercise

Found a cool industrial, place to fly nitro twist 46 with extra tank

Will install fpv gear back on it and show others how crazy I am:eek ::confus ed:

I run by that same rule. Last time it happened, I made it to the field and just was not feeling it. I watched 5 of the most senses crashes in a row in a 1 hour period.... One of those whould have been me.

The geese are winning! When they take off from their watery safe haven in the morning for their feeding sites.....they're just out of range! Local nuisance geese are the toughest geese to hunt cause they know their environment well. Still, a day hunting is still better than a day at work.

I've begun piecing together a "Yard Stick", just because I had all this "leccy" stuff lying around and I have a airframe as well as a new brushless system to install in it! No Waldo, I'm not a leccy convert......just putting to use the stuff I have lying around, plus I can't fly nitro on the weekend......the gate locked..

Nice work Kerwin!! I know you're happy!!

David, congrats on the new flying sites! Now go maiden those planes, or we are going to revoke your man card!! Lol

So as many of you may remember, I started flying my T40 on a .46AX and it worked pretty well, but I got on the old,(never to be spoken of aloud) thread and noticed that Waldo and Snowman, and a couple others were running the .61FX.
I ran quite a bit of fuel through that engine in short order! Then one day I started her up and it sounded a little different. I looked at my old buddy Chuck, (Balsabuster), who was one of my instructors and was always extremely helpful to me. But ol Chuck is a man of very few words, and he only said two words but he communicated much more, it was obviously a teaching moment but although there was no particular emphasis in the proclamation, it was simply articulated in Chuck's signature gruff, short,(but not unfriendly) deadpan manner, but I am sure I detecteded a bit of unlooked for delight in a gently rippling undercurrent somewhere in the delivery.Chuck was enjoying this. "So what happens next"? I asked. "New bearings" he replied. "This engine is just a few months old" I said indignantly. He just smiled and humorously reminded me that I probably had two dozen gallons through it already and couldn't exactly call it a new engine!
I was undeterred, I took the engine off and brought it back to the hobby shop. The guy was willing to work with me it seemed, so I asked him to take that one back and I'd pay him the difference for the .61 that was in the showcase. He took the deal and I have had the .61 ever since. I am sure she has at least 40~50 gallons through her. Unfortunately she has been sitting idle for about 2 years now. It's no big deal, I thought, I still have the set of Boca bearings I bought years ago, thinking that I would need some bearings any time with that many hours on her. I tried to turn her over by grabbing the prop hub. I wanted to feel the bearings. Well she turned over, but it was really hard to turn because of all the compression! I took out the glow plug, which looked great by the way, and to my surprise, she turns very smoothly. I didn't feel any grit at all! I think I'll run her the way she is! That engine has been through about four airframes and it is still mounted to the very first set of factory T40 engine mounts! I just pull her off of one and stick her on another! I still need a few parts to start the PPORBBBT like carb bolts, and a receiver but it won't be long.
Anybody have a Spektrum or Orange receiver they want to get rid of?

Oh, by the way, that story is why Balsabuster will sometimes bust my chops and pop in here just to say to me, "sounds like bad bearings" every once in a while, to this day!
But thanks for the lesson Chuck, you crazy old coot!
