This thread is fun because you never know what you're gonna get, one moment it's like reading The Wind In The Willows and in the next it's like reading The Hitchiker's Guide To The Universe!

Snowman, who are your literary influences?

Well, you wrap the servo wire on the choke. Then you need a longer extension.

Plow, I really get off on technical manuals.....no schwitt! Give me a book on say, Physical Metallurgy or The Machinist's Bedside Reader......and I'm lost within their pages in minutes. I like it all.....this house is full of bookworms and books.....Frost, Poe, King, Homer, Shakespeare, Anthony, Machiavelli, Nietzsche, Shel Silverstein, ad infinitum...they all have added to the understanding and joy of life. But let me say that what influences me most is the quest for friendly banter.....word association leading to who knows where! Playing the Devil's advocate for instance has yielded interesting conversation on many an occasion. What about you.....who/what tickles your fancy in the literary sense? Does some thought-inspiring author guide your hand when you put pen to paper?
I haven't dabbled much on the internet......but what a find it was for me to discover a group of guys willing to talk about their hobby and life for that matter on all levels.......from the lows of a death of a friend or family member to the birth of a child....graduation.......new job.....lost job. For a short time, in the beginning, I questioned the truth of what was being touted by some, but it soon became apparent that through this common denominator.....rc airplanes......what I found was a group of sincere and genuine hobbyists that I've been a part of for many a year. Hell, anyone that can tolerate my diarrhea of the keys.......has to have merit....if not in my eyes only!

Wayne, did you take those? Nice!

Yes, the pictures were taken at my driveway. A small 80mm telescope on an Atlas EQ-G mount. I took some with a CCD camera but it is having problems. The rest were taken with a Canon T3i.

Looks like T___taholic get together in the heart land may be a little closer to a reality My wife found a nearby clubs new field. Looks like I'll be joining since dues are only $15 a year, and the field is less than 30 miles from the house. They welcome guests so an unofficial T___t fly in might be doable. Should have more info in a few weeks.

Sounds great buckskin. Yeah I can't beleive the other club says they welcome guest but they shut their door to us.
O the wind the wind. It seems like it's been an awful breeze spring. And now that the FLI is over I'm ready to get back to flying all my planes and fly them alot.
Nice shots wayne. Thier better than what I saw on tv.

I think the other club was worried about getting a big event just dumped on them.

That's ok though, I've flown at these guys old field and met some of their active flyers. They seem like a great bunch of guys. I didn't try them before because their old runway might've been rougher than Walk of Shame Alley... lol They apparently got some outside funding to help with the new field. Now it's closer to me and has a 600 ft paved runway. Much better on landing gear... lol

Snowman, my interests are diverse, much like your own. I love the classics and most anything with historical significance. Virgil, Josephus, Dante, right on down to Dickens, Tolstoy and Hugo.

On my way to the field!!

It should be great, it has been in the works for a long time. Unfortunately, with my job it will take awhile longer to put together. But I think it will be worth the wait. The trick will be finding a time when the most T___taholics can be there at the same time.

The cool thing is there are at least 8 of us within a 6hr drive, make it 10 if you go to 8hrs. Plus I believe they have camping and RV hook ups on site, and plenty of hotels nearby if needed.
