DOG nice.cover job!! 12 x 7 would work fine or 13 x 4 as Waldo said.

Dan, grab the engine!! The other Dan (waay) ran the 82 on the t40 and I believe he ran the 14 x 4 , also as Waldo mentioned.

Waldo, "planes of the corn" huh?!! Lol Spooky!!

Got quite a bit done today, finally. I had to repair my canopy on the Extra before I fired her up. It blew off the hood of my Jeep a while back when I was charging my batteries. Then I started her and tuned a little bit. I would have played with it for hours but I'm sure it was annoying people.
The Sabre is coming along. Got everything hinged and the gear on. I also installed the tail servos, which took a long time because of having to pull wires through that flat fuse!! Jeezzze! What a PITA!! Lol
Anyway, probably three or four hours of work left, if that. I'll install the rest of the servos and move on to horns and linkage, then the engine and tank.
Kinda getting excited about this one now that it looks like an airplane. I should be flying her next weekend for sure. Maybe the Extra too, we'lll see. My wife has to go out of town for school, so if my kid goes to a friend's or something I'll stay out there all day!! In fact, one field here is a morning field and the other is an afternoon field, so I'll swing by my house for lunch and more bottled water and sunscreen on the way from one field to the other!

Speaking of which... What is a good 3Dish prop for a K&B 61?
I am seeing 11X7 or 8, possible 12X6. I have some 12.25X3.75 but I am not sure.

This is NOT a tail heavy Kadet, the 6V pack will need located on or just behind the CG and the Fuel tank is slid back under the windsheild.

XPS Enabled
I ran a 14x4W on my OS61fx with good results....

Rain is now falling suppose to stop then tomorrow starts the pounding we do need the rain but we were suppose to get rained out today but didn't so who knows I'm just glad our crew shows up rain or shine :j

Well I attempted my first Flatspin with Jack T40 it was quite windy and took a bit to get it to take so it finally happened after a few attempts but all 3 planes survived the day and the cornfield took one of our guys nexstar today nothing too bad but another victory from the greedy cornfield lol

Throw that 70 on your Twist and when you get that 82 slap her on a profile plane.
Kinda wish I would have kept that 72 I had.

this has to be one of the most popular threads on rc groups , or most posted , i can't keep up.

I have a question about engine air filters

a logging road I found is a great place to fly from but is dusty.

my cub with 46 ax has no air filter but might need one?

My imagination says that there will be lots of dust.

Anyone have ideas or thoughts on starting and takeing off from a dustly dirt runway?

should I zap strap or tie on a filter cloth around the carb?

I tried the plug in filter that looks like a fishing lure but gave me way less engine power due to air restrictions

I need or would like a filter that will give me some or very limited restrictions for air but be able to keep out the rock from getting into the engine

any ideas or suggestions would be great.

Hey David!! Good to see you!
I think you already have the right idea, stretch some cloth over the mouth and zip tie it on! Why not? Just keep an eye on it because if it gets clogged up then you won't get any air!

plus one on that Alan
Boy it's really good to have you back posting again.
Well I've about got the motor box all repaired on the MX.
I did get out for a couple of batteries on the little edge tonight. I really worked on my KE' and harriers. This little edge is just way too much fun.

Waldo Waldo, all this time you've been misleading with the film reference to your name. The Great Waldo Pepper is not the right movie at all. Shame shame.
Truth is it's gotta be Stephen King's Children of the Corn lol.

Outlw36...their field lulls you into a false sense of security with its rolling hills on a gentle slope, but after flying there recently...I think its really situated on an ancient Indian burial ground or pet cemetary for Mary Worth and her ilk. I swore I heard the raven call "Nevermore" just before I lost control...(course, that might have been Waldo.)

David22...I always look forward to your posts. Keep 'em comin'!
