They are using it on building kit motors Ron.

One interesting thing happened while I was flying today...a 747 on final approach to Petersen AFB came in right over my head. I gotta tell ya, it was hard to keep my eye on my teeny tiny plane in the air when a 747 is going right over your head at probably less than 1000 feet.
LOL...that had to be pretty cool! Glad you are enjoying the trip! If the the winds hold down Saturday, I am dragging the ole Slick out...can't take it anymore, lol

Well I went down to home depot and got some of that glue (second link) and already glued the magnets back in. the nice thing about the hacker motors is they have a nice little seat at the bottom of the can for them magnets to sit in so getting them spaced properly would be hard to screw up. I'll let you guys know if/when it breaks again with an approximation of how much flight time it took.

If it holds metal to glass, it will hold metal to metal... Stuff is high priced.

The Blue Wonder kits always came with the 2 part mix, I still have some, its great stuff. I wish they had the dividers for the mags like a hacker.

Seems every motor I have dropped a mag on appeared to be CA install. The thicker mag glues sort of fill the gap a bit between the mags, those motors are often much more quiet.

If this doesn't hold up I might try some jb weld epoxy. Not the metal kind... the stuff that sets up in 5 min. The guy at aero-model recommended it. He said you just need a high temp epoxy and the jb weld is rated for 300 deg. The glue I used is rated up to 180. I never get it that hot though so I'm not too worried.

You fix all that unreliable magnet stuff by putting an IC engine on there.

Looks like Balsarite does not fuel proof so I am going back to HOT fuel proof dope. Can you just smell it?

Thanks, that was a great site. I now have a place to start. And I do have an enlarged rudder area - but only by about 50%. I made it look like a Piper Cub. Neat plane.

too thick a glue product may hold the magnet up too high.

Well I have it back on and have run the motor with no prop and it didn't toss a magnet... not that it would... We'll see what happens when I put it in the air and fly it hard.

Nate I guess I missed that about your motor. My Nippy Black did the same thing. The ca worked for awhile and then it spit it again this time chewing it up. I've got it back together again but I believe the mirror glue would be better.

Those bearing can be changed on a Nippy Black?
She is an 1812.

Guys tell me. Am I really a leckie hiding in the closet? Or do I just enjoy electric park flyers?
I mean I really enjoy after work going out to a small area and putting my 3DHS 41 inch Edge through her paces. And no I don't have to have any company. Just me, the Edge, and the wild blue yonder.
Don't get me wrong please, I love my IC engines and the brotherhood of flyers.
But there are times when I just want to get out by myself and fly my little Edge.

For those of you who will never know the joys of this little plane, my heart really bleds for you.
