So many different topics being discussed I just don't know where to jump in! *Quietly sitting in the wall flower section.*

Oh, I got it........Who of those gathered here would say they spend the least (on the hobby), but fly the most?

Congrats Nate thats awesome!!

Snowman LOL And gopod to see you errr orrr see your typing that is.
I don't know where I stand at all on that LOL I spend here and there and fly once a week from April through December at our field and a few times during the week at my home, hopefully once we move I can start squeezing in more air time at our field.
Actually yesterday was so nice almost 60 about a 2mph light breeze I had to get outside and test my new CG gentle lady with the motor I mounted on top.
Apparently my Keycam lens is now crap but it was a good test and I glided around in a happy state of mind, felt good to get on the sticks even if it was just a glider in the back yard. Heres the blurry vid anyway.
And the Pics of what I was flying

Looks good Waldo...you reminded me that I have a Gentle Lady at home that I need to work on. I've even got the motor mount...I realized that I can do something like what you have done and put an electric motor on that mount instead of trying to refit a motor into the nose. I'll have to get going on that and take some pics.
At least that is a low cost or even no cost (I think I have all the parts I need) activity!

Tough to beat Jody at Valleyviewrc! However, I understand wanting to try new and less expensive engines. That's why I have a DLE 111 and a 55 instead of DA's! I have been out of the loop and don't know anything about those engines. I'd probably see if Tired Old Man or Al Lewis have tested it yet.
I have a Saito 1.80 that would fly the snot out of that plane, but gas is the way to go, really.

I spent 10 dollars for the Tower Hobby super savers club, and I can get a DLE 30 shipped to my door for 269.00
The DLE has a 2 year warranty.

I've heard that Jody is no longer with VVRC. Left a few months ago.

That is true...Jody is no longer at VVRC...but VVRC is still a good company and I've had dealing with Tom, the owner, and he is a stand up guy.

And you may speak to me on the phone this week if you wish.

How they start what?

It's true that I, as of last Friday, am no longer employed at VVRC. I have taken advantage of other opportunities that will further my career and better suit the needs of my family and myself at this time.

There is nothing bad about this in any way, Tom, Linda, Tammy, and I all remain close personal friends. For customers of VVRC, nothing will change, same great company, same great people, same great service including my technical expertise when necessary. I will continue to endorse and sopport VVRC and their customers via email and phone for as long as requests come into my inbox.

The sky is not falling, nor is VVRC.

Thank you guys very much, I'm touched to hear all your appreciation. I will still be around here in the forums and continue to respond to requests for help and offer my two cents where I feel it may be appropriate.

Don't worry about me loosing my touch, where I'm going I will be doing some of the very same type of work on the same type or similar engines that I've always worked on but at a much higher and more challenging level. It's not in the model hobby industry and I will not have any direct affiliation with any specific engine manufacturer or retail establishment.
