Right now it's a OS91FS but i will be changing that to a DLE20 I think, I have seen those LBA15's at our field. Would that have lots of vertical pull out power on this plane. I haven't had any of my Hitec's fail but i don't have alot of them either. The Turnigy\BB 620 and 621"s have been doing great for me too.

Wayne, haven't you really just had trouble with HS-81s?
Hitec seems to make the most durable standard-sized servos I've ever seen (as experienced in a Hobby Shop). HS-65MGs are great micro servos, and 7955s are indestructible. They don't even sell a gear set for them because it just doesn't fail. We had to direct-order a gear set from them because someone owned a screw head in one and couldn't get it out. lol Also, compared with other good servos (Futaba, JR, Airtronics, ... ), Hitec's entire product line is generally equal or lower in price. As a disclaimer, I used to be an Airtronics guy, then a JR guy, then a Hitec guy, then a Futaba guy, and now... it seems like I end up with Hitecs more often than not. I have had 2 gear sets fail in an airplane with HS-65HBs that fluttered REALLY BAD on the ailerons, and stripped 3 on a 450 heli that I crashed the crap out of. Other than that they've been 100%, and those 5 servos are still in service with metal gear sets now. I've also only ever nuked one hitec servo's motor/electronics (out of like ... 50 servos). I've killed 3 or 4 airtronics (out of like 6), and a couple JRs (out of probably 15-20). Never a Futaba though (out of 10-20). Just sayin'. ![]() -Eric |
