You should be careful with Goop as it will eat some foams. Try it on a scrap piece first. A glue I like for all foams is Beacon's Foam Tac. It also does hinges very well.

The only place I can find Welders is Lowes. Home Depot, Ace and general hardware stores do not carry it. They always show you Weldwood. Anyone try that?

Ez Fly was Ez Choice

For starters thank's again to Mike for such an easy build. I am amazed to see that after three years, we still have people participating in this great thread. To-day it is my turn to post, and show everyone what I have built.

To quote Mike's comments from in a previous thread " I love that paint Job " and since the T-28 is also one of my favorites, I don't think that " Buckeye95 " will mind if I chose the same paint design as he did. The rattle can was from Krylon, ( Fusion ) and in no way did it damage the foam.

Tonight is the big night ( indoor gym ) so God willing, my Ez-Fly will have it's maiden flight.

Nice job on the paint and graphics. Nice touch with the rivets and panel lines.

Fantastic maiden flight

The maiden flight was actually " made in " heaven.

Fantastic flyer, ( sorry no video for now maybe later ) and not only are three others club members going to start to build their very own over the weekend, but I also I turned down two offers to purchase mine outright. Guess there is still room for these little trainers after all.

Lastely, and this is addressed to Mike, is there any chance that one day we might see the plans for the P51 and Spitfire. The cost of the kit's are relatively low, however being in Canada, and on the East coast at that, the final price, with shipping, customs, and taxes, would not be cost effective, and end up being more then the value of the kit itself. Just a though, because I could always " wing it " but I would prefer to have it identical to your originals since they look so good.

Hey Mike,

Thank's for the quick response.

The above model of mine weighs is 8.114 onces complete with the 850 ma 2S Lipo, however I was thinking of building a second one lighter still, and replacing all the 9mm with the 6mm thickness. Do you know of anyone that has gone that route ?

Thank's for the kind words Shiney. Long ago when I was young, I was taught that it's no more expensive to make things look good, it's just more time intensive.

I am now in the process of building a second one, however in an effort to make it as light as possible, no 9mm will be used, only the 6mm and doublers in 3mm. Should be a real indoor floater.

I have had several people talk to me about doing an EzFly float plane. Well Leadfeather lit a fire under me and suggested using the Icon float plane for a reference.
I am real happy with how it turned out. I have been tweeking the design for the last month and am pretty much at the final design. I cut one for Leadfeather to play with and he maidened it today.
He is doing a build thread in the Waterplane area.

Unfortunately his pond was frozen over but I have flown mine a bunch off of water and love it. I just do not have any video.
I hope to have the kit finalized in the next week or so.
