Smartmodel scale rotor blades for 450 size !

Dear 450 friend that is a good new from Smartmodel are producing the scale rotor blades for all the rigid rotor head 450 size . We have see some of the rigid head in 450 size but there are no suitable blades for the rigid head .In fact the rotor head have no dempening ,it should be match a flexible material rotor blade , We have produce this new flexible material in injection molding , it same the TF Model scale rotor blades material .The Flexible with 7 g weighted wing tip let the blades provide stable performance .It produce from machine and provide good weight balance and very attactive cost .WE hope to set the price about 50% of the normal friberglass blades .We will make it popular in scale market ,and looking for some test pilot ,let to try the 3-D performance .Let see the video of the 500 size (big brother ) scale rotor blades in 3-D preformance .

Kin, very good News!!

I've been modding blades for my own use. I notice heavier blades do provide stability at the expense of higher torque for the tail rotor to counteract and less flight time.

I use two kinds of blades, although they could be the same length of 325mm or 305mm.

1) Heavier plastic blades + 2.6g lead for two and three bladed head, 24*305 and 24*325; at about 28 to 30g each with weight added.
2) Lighter FRP 23*325 with 2.6g lead added at about 22 grams each for 4 and 5-bladed head.

I could say without the weighted tip, my 2-bladed FBL will be a handful without e-stabilization.

SmartModel Bell Jet Ranger 450 FBL - flybarless Belt cp Blade 400 (2 min 18 sec)

FBL - mimic Bell Huey stabilizer bar without e-stabilizer (2 min 19 sec)

That is great news, Kin. I was really hoping you would consider the 450-size blades. The ones for the 500's look perfect, much more scale than other offerings. Can't wait to hear about availability.
Thanks,
Bob

Can't wait, Kin. I have an AS-350 build that needs scale blades. Will definitely be watching for any news of availability.

Thats GREAT! I ordered a 450 sized Little Bird fuselage from Smartmodel last week!

You know, I'm really gonna have to learn to fly these things soon... rather than just hovering!

Hovering is the long pole in the tent, so you got it better than beat.

Cheers - Boyd
