90mm fans and it should be roughly 8 feet long.

Here's a few of my CAD models, I tend to keep them on the simple side to make them easier to dissect into cut files, if it goes that far, the details can always be added later on if needed.

Dean,

Cool Douglas 558-1 looks pretty cool. I started on one for 60mm fan. Just the outlines of the fusleage and the wing and stab. Will do it in Inventor when time comes to finish the design.

Cheers,
Eric b.

Thanks, that one was a quickie, if you want a copy of the CAD model as a para-solid, or other format of choice, to use for your project, shoot me a PM...

Hi Dean,

Thanks for that, but as with you it is part of the hobby to do the design work. I would ask where you got the 3-view? I used one from Nasa but it was small and not a lot of detail.

Cheers,
Eric B.

I totally understand, I'm the same way.... and yeah, that's the same 3-view I used, pretty generic, but was good enough for a quickie .
Good luck with your design.

I am surprised at the quality of these. Congratulations to all who contributed.

I only have a Fairchild 24 in 2D Autocad, that is my best CAD project. The model is under construction since 12 months or more.. I may post the plan soon, it is still under modification as the construction requires.

Thanks,
The B-36D took 8-9 years to design, and there is a build thread over on giant scale electrics if you want to see the build.

I have always wanted to build a B-58 EDF, but this size I want would be the challenge. I want the wing to be about 8' in span.

Great 3D work you have there.

Thanks, DAG

It is just awesome. Mike, is that Catia? Is the render software distinct from the CAD software? Or is it built in?

Thank you, clausxpf and mcg.

Catia is waaaaaay out of my budget. All the work I showed here was done with Luxology's "modo 401". ( http://www.luxology.com ) I switched from Carrara Studio a couple of years ago, and absolutely love this software. Modeling, rendering, animation, 3D painting, etc., all in one package.
