If you are doing two fans, 40mm would probably do it. I'm no expert on those fan sizes, but from thrust data I've seen, two 40s should give you close to or around a 1:1 thrust to weight ratio.

Many of your links in early posts are dead now. Methinks it's time for an update!

I didn't know you were on the forum. I do need to update everything though. My laptop bugged out on me though so no updates till I get back home at the end of the summer.

Yeah. Unfortunately, some of those sites don't exist any more. Sad to say, I think GBD is gone for good, meaning their custom fans will no longer be available. I updated my first post with new links. I couldn't find new links for some things, but the good news is, there are some new items added to the list now, including the 27mm and 35mm AEO fans and the eight blade rotors for the 30mm AEO fans.

GBD went out of business shortly after we created this thread. I left the links there in hope that the link error was only a temporary issue. I was actually communicating with the owner (forgot his name) at the time. He stated that he was going through a few of life's challenges.

Yeah buddy I'm on here, I've been trying to follow your projects since I haven't been able to make it to any of the recent Riddle Fly-Ins. Pretty cool stuff as usual. I'm just now delving into my first 30mm EDF after seeing some promising results from NitroCharged, specifically 200 grams at 10A on 3S. I frequently do custom winds on motors for my micro prop jets, so doing the necessary re-winding on the motor used is well within reach. The only issue I'm having is how to properly cut the fan blades to precisely the right length.

I have not. In the event that it is easy to find, I'll see it in threads started by you. If not, please post a link. Thanks

I've started this thread so we will have a place where all the currently available 30mm to 40mm edf units, parts, and motors are. I have posted the ones I know of. If you know of others, please post links. I also want to give a special thanks to boredom.is.me for helping me with this thread.

Micromodeldrome

Hi all,
I have recently resurfaced to the micro EDF scene, my old company GBD Models closed some years ago but I am pleased to say that I have now founded www.micromodeldrome.com
early days yet but having some success with Micro Models brushless and brushed set ups.
Hope to post some info on my set ups soon.

Here is a pic of my 1S Brushed F16 Weight = 24 g

motor fan setups for Guillows F16

Can I get some light and powerful motor/fan/battery/esc recommendations for this plane? It's a converted quillows static display. It currently has a GWS 40 with a feigao inrunner that requires 3 cells and a cc10 amp speed controller. I could stick with this setup but wondering if there's anything better (ie. lighter with about the same amount of thrust or same weight and more thrust). It's been a couple of years....The plane currently weighs 110grams without the battery. Lots of finishing left to do.

Thanks.
