Sweet dude! Welcome back!! I bet you're gonna love that plane. I'm getting to know my NEW 48" Extra 330, and am very impressed so far. I can't wait for the weather to improve so I can go rip up the skies some more.

Just tried a Hyperion ZS 3014-12 (1132 Kv) with an APC 13x4e prop in my 48" BAF Yak.

Very happy with the results. Outrageous pull-out from hover. 7mins of mixed 3D and precision flying and I need to put around 1300 mAH back into my 2200 3s packs.

It may just be my new favorite combination. My old favorite was a Scorpion 3014-18 and an APC 12x3.8SF.

i went out this morning to get a little flying in and on the 3rd pack while in mid flight about 100 feet up the prop adapter sheared off leaving the motor hanging from the fuse and the prop disapearing into the trees. i did in fact manage to land it softly..... MY LUCK IS HORRIBLE!!! YIKES... at least i got 3 packs in ...lmao

I have to say I agree, bad luck is in your blood right now. Sorry to say.

whose prop adapter was that? Scorpion, Eflight?

You might want to post that on the Scorpion motor thred to if it is, I'm sure lucien would want to know about this.

Sorry ClydeJames86!~(*. You'll get your luck back I'm sure. I had a streak of bad luck a while back. I agree with Mike, make it known to the vendor at least. Don't want that happening to anyone, could put an eye out! Doh! Somebody had to say, somebody had to say it!

Here comes the flying weather!

We should be snow free here for the rest of this week and starting to warm up a little. I hope we can have a little more Spring and a little less Winter, but we get what we get.

I ordered the landing gear for my 330 last night. I was getting some really solid hovers last week, but they were 30ft up. It's a little tougher the lower I get, so in the interest of preserving my plane somewhat, I'm gonna run the landing gear for now. At least until I can hover at a catchable altitude. Belly landings in the grass aren't bad, but I've been flying with a couple of my heli-buddies in a gravel lot lately, and shakin' rocks out of my motor is no way to end a flight!

So, I'm wondering if the landing gear will effect flight characteristics to any sort of detectable degree or not. I ordered the 2.75" wheels also, but I have a set of 1.75" if the larger are on the heavy side. We'll see!

I did get a chance to fly a 48" 330 recently with landing gear that was setup somewhat similar to mine (infact, I think it was pretty much the same weight). The only thing I noticed was it did want to couple towards the belly on knife edge a tad but it wasn't anything major

it wasnt hard to do at all, all you have to do is spray the yellow first, then after it dries, spray the green over the outer half of yellow.
