This is a request for a new product.

Soon there will be the new firmware and the GoPro HD camera will have video out enabled while recording (I contacted them via email).

I hope somebody will produce a Pan&Tilt for that camera soon... something for a bigger servo than hs81 for pan and tilt (HS-225 HB could be a good one), and with tilt axis passing on the center of the camera body to avoid big cg shifting and aerodynamic issues..

I will look into it, if anyone is willing to loan me the camera for 2-3 days to take measurements I will the return the favor by sending you the camera back with a free pan/tilt mount. If interested PM me

He's good on his word about the mount. I have two of his pan/tilts and three mounts and all are great quality.

Good to know, have also requested the AV out for the go pro but they had no intrest in that thing, i also told them that the would get a bunch of rc people and explaned the great camera for FPV,

So they have got there thumbs out and maybe more people have talked to them,

Must order one, it is so dam high quality, have tried one:P

You're talking about this camera, right?

Did they say what kind of video output they're going to add to the camera?

My understanding is that the video transmitters we're all using for FPV will only push an NTSC/PAL/SECAM video signal -- roughly 450 lines @ 30fps. So if the manufacturer adds an HD video out to this camera, we'd have to run the signal through some kind of conversion before handing it to the video tx.

It will most likely be Composite Video out.

I was ready to buy the DX 201 cam. but now thanks to you zaguruinzasky and the rumor about the new firmware I'm really lost !!!!

ues composite video out they told me, in the "near future". That's the best little camera out there at the moment inmho.

For now running a regular mini FPV cam beside it on the pan tilt seems like a viable option. Anyone who wants to get a GoPro and anyone that has one already should email their customer support and let them know they will sell thousands more to our community over time if they hurry up and add composite out!

I sent them a message last night asking about composite out.
These seem like great cameras, and nearly perfect for FPV if they get them updated.

I just sent them mail too asking for SD PAL/NTSC output while recording in HD at the same time... I referenced the RC Hobbyist / FPV / UAV market too, so hopefully, if we all keep badgering them in droves, they'll not be able to ignore what for them could be a potentially big (small) market... You never know, they might get one of their sales / marketing guys to go check out all this "FPV stuff"....

The more people that ask them, the better, even if you're not gonna buy one yourself!!

Did they happen to mention anything about video out while recording with the older standard definition GoPro cameras? I've got one of those taking up space on my shelf...
