Mounting Holes OS vs. Tower Hobbies .46

I want to try a new engine on my SIG Somethin' Extra and was wondering if I can just remove my old OS .46 engine and drop in a new Tower Hobbies .46 engine and not have to drill new holes or buy a new mount bracket.

Here are the two engine links:

Thanks for the help and standing by on hitting the buy it now button.

The flanges are more than strong enough to allow you to machine another set of holes if need be. I would think this mounting issue would be a non issue in the selection of the engine.

Many high end engine do this.

All the best,

I'm sure it is, but I'm just wondering if it's a drop in fit. I'm sure someone must have at one time bought a TH .46 and used it where an OS .46 went.

Cool! Thanks!

You know what? Looking at the specs on the two pages I linked gives me a pretty fair assumption that it just may work.

I guess I'll go ahead and order and and see what happens.

Thanks for the help.

Will do.

Makes me wonder who makes the engines for Tower Hobbies though. Maybe when I get it the owner's manual will have some sort of clue in it.

Maybe there is? I'd be more than happy if they all were being made in Japan.

Why?

The technical know how is one thing. But the term and condition of the agreement are even more telling

I don't think Enya has ever been a sub contractor to any brand.
